Round 354 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As I pull on the rope, Varikka's head appears in the opening, her eyes bleary with pain and her breathing labored. "Merrin...help..." she gasps, her voice barely audible over the din of the collapse. The creature in the darkness takes another step closer, its glowing eyes fixed on Varikka with an unnerving intensity. I grit my teeth, focusing on pulling her to safety. Suddenly, a section of the wall slides open, revealing a narrow passageway. But as I pull Varikka through, I realize that the passageway is only wide enough for one person at a time. The water pressure increases exponentially, threatening to engulf us all. I can feel the weight of the stone behind us, the sound of it shifting and groaning with every passing moment. "Varikka, we have to move now!" I shout, my voice hoarse with urgency. "We're almost out of time!" The creatures at the edge of the ledge take a step closer, their glowing eyes fixed on us with an unblinking stare. I glance back at them, my heart racing with fear.
I feel Varikka's weight as she falls into my arms, her body limp and unresponsive. "Varikka!" I shout, shaking her shoulders. "Wake up, we need to move now!"
The water rushes around our feet, threatening to sweep us away at any moment. I grab the rope, tying it around Varikka's waist as tightly as I can. "Hold on," I whisper, my voice shaking with fear. "I'm going to pull you to safety."
But as I start to drag her towards the narrow opening, I feel a sudden tug on the rope. The creature from the darkness has wrapped its tendrils around Varikka's legs, pulling her back into the water. "No!" I scream, yanking on the rope with all my might. The creature hisses, its glowing eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. I can see the water rising around us, the walls of the chamber crumbling with every passing moment. We're running out of time. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what comes next. With a final burst of strength, I yank on the rope, pulling Varikka free from the creature's grasp. "Come on," I pant, dragging her towards the opening. "We have to get out of here now."
As we crawl through the narrow passageway, I can hear the sound of the water rushing behind us, the walls groaning and shifting with every passing moment. But I don't look back. All that matters is getting Varikka to safety. And so we push forward, our bodies aching and our hearts pounding with fear, as the tower collapses around us and the creature from the darkness fades into the shadows behind.
