As Merrin takes another step forward, her mace at the ready, the creature in the darkness takes a cautious step back, its glowing eyes fixed on her with an unnerving intensity. Varikka, still holding off the creatures at the edge of the ledge, calls out, "Merrin, be careful! We don't know what this thing is capable of!" The ground beneath Merrin's feet trembles again, and she stumbles, nearly losing her balance. The air seems to vibrate with the threat of collapse, and the sound of rushing water grows ever louder. Suddenly, the chamber lurches violently, and the torches on the walls flicker wildly, casting eerie shadows on the ground. The creatures at the edge of the ledge take a step closer, their glowing eyes fixed on Merrin with an unblinking stare. A massive boulder hurtles down the chamber, heading straight for Varikka, who is now precariously perched on the crumbling ledge. "Varikka, get down!" Merrin shouts, her voice carrying above the din of the collapse.

"Varikka, watch out!" I shout, my voice barely audible over the roar of the collapsing chamber. The massive boulder hurtles towards her, gaining speed as it careens down the narrow passage. My heart leaps into my throat as she stumbles, her shield arm flailing wildly in an attempt to maintain her balance. The creatures at the edge of the ledge take a step closer, their glowing eyes fixed on Varikka with an unblinking stare. I can see the fear etched into every line of her face, the desperation as she claws at the crumbling stone, trying to find purchase. "Varikka!" I scream, my voice raw with urgency. "Jump!"

But it's too late. The boulder slams into her with a sickening crunch, and she goes flying, her body twisting in midair before disappearing from view. "VARIKKA!" I scream, my voice echoing through the chamber as the sound of rushing water grows ever louder. I take a step forward, my mace raised, ready to strike at whatever threatens us next. The creature in the darkness takes another cautious step back, its glowing eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. I can feel the ground trembling beneath my feet, the foundations of the tower groaning as they struggle to hold against the onslaught of water and debris. "Varikka?" I call out, my voice hoarse with emotion. "Varikka, where are you?" There's no answer, only the roar of the collapsing chamber and the sound of rushing water. I take another step forward, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. The creature in the darkness doesn't move, its glowing eyes fixed on me as if daring me to make a move. I can feel the weight of my mace in my hand, the familiar grip a comfort in the face of the unknown. But deep down, I know that we don't have time for this. Whatever this creature is, whatever secrets it holds, they pale in comparison to the immediate threat of collapse that looms over us. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever comes next. Whatever path we choose, whatever dangers we face, we need to find a way out of here before the entire tower collapses around us. And so I wait, my mace at the ready, my eyes fixed on the creature in the darkness, as the seconds tick by and the sound of rushing water grows ever louder. "Varikka," I whisper, my voice barely audible above the din of the collapse. "Please be alive."

I fall hard onto my back, my breath knocked out of me by the impact. I can feel the cold water rushing over me, the weight of it pressing against my chest as I struggle to breathe. My hand throbs with pain, the rope burns searing into my skin as I claw at the stone, trying to find purchase. "Merrin!" I gasp, my voice hoarse and ragged. "I'm down here!" But there's no answer, only the roar of the collapsing chamber and the sound of rushing water. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what comes next. I can feel the ground trembling beneath me, the foundations of the tower groaning as they struggle to hold against the onslaught of water and debris. But even as the world around me crumbles, I know that we don't have time for this.
