Round 335 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's mace crashes against the stone wall, sending sparks flying as it shatters the boulder that had hurtled towards her and Varikka. The creature recoils, momentarily stunned, but its eyes quickly refocus on Varikka, its jaws still open wide in a deadly strike. Varikka swiftly hauls Merrin out of the way, the two women tumbling across the slick stone as the creature lunges forward, its jaws snapping mere inches from their heels. The water surges around their ankles, the sound of rising water pressure growing louder with each passing moment.
"Varikka!" I scream as the boulder smashes into the wall inches from where we stand. I barely have time to register the shattered rock before the creature lunges again, its jaws snapping at Varikka's heels. I swing my mace with all my strength, the heavy weapon crashing against the beast's skull with a sickening crunch. The creature staggers back, momentarily stunned, but I know it won't be down for long. "Varikka, we need to move!" I shout, hauling myself to my feet and staggering towards the dwarf. "The water's rising too fast!"
I can see the fear in Varikka's eyes, the same desperate determination that burns in my own chest. We're both exhausted, injured, and trapped in a death trap. But we're not ready to give up just yet. Together, we stagger along the narrow ledge, the water surging around our ankles as we fight to stay upright. I can feel the ground shaking beneath us, the sound of crumbling stone echoing through the chamber like a death knell. "Don't let go," I gasp, my fingers digging into Varikka's arm as I struggle to keep my balance on the slick stone. "Please, Varikka. I can't...I can't lose you too."
Varikka meets my gaze, her expression fierce and determined. "You won't," she promises, her voice rough with emotion. "I've got you, Merrin. We're going to make it out of this alive. Together."
And with that, we stagger on, fighting our way through the chaos and carnage of the crumbling chamber, our lives depending on every desperate step we take along the narrow ledge.
