Round 319 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's crossbow bolt strikes true, but the creature's central mass shudders violently, causing the entire chamber to shake. A section of the wall near Varika collapses, sending her tumbling to the ground. The water level continues to rise, and Merrin struggles to maintain her footing as the floor becomes increasingly slippery. The creature's tendrils thrash about in a frenzy of pain and rage, sending chunks of stone and debris flying through the air. As the chaos ensues, the sound of grinding stone echoes through the chamber, growing louder with each passing moment. The structural collapse is imminent, threatening to trap the duo beneath a pile of rubble at any moment.
I see Varikka struggling to her feet amidst the chaos, a look of grim determination on her face as she aims her crossbow at the beast once more. The grinding of stone grows louder, and I know we don't have much time left. I take aim with my own weapon, trying to steady my hands despite the shaking of the chamber. "Varikka!" I call out, my voice barely audible over the cacophony of destruction. "We need to move! That wall isn't going to hold much longer!" She nods, her eyes never leaving the creature as she fires another bolt at its central mass. I do the same, praying that our combined attacks will be enough to bring the beast down before it's too late. But even as I let my own bolt fly, I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet, the water rising ever higher around us. We're running out of time, and I don't know if we'll make it out of this alive.
I hear Merrin's warning over the chaos, my heart pounding in my chest as I struggle to maintain my footing amidst the rising water and crumbling walls. "We need to move!" she yells, her voice barely audible over the grinding of stone and the shrieks of the tentacled horror. I nod grimly, knowing that she's right. We can't stay here much longer if we want to survive this. I take aim with my crossbow once more, firing another bolt at the beast's central mass in a desperate attempt to bring it down before it's too late. But even as I let the weapon fly, I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet, the water rising ever higher around us. We're running out of time, and I don't know if we'll make it out of this alive. I glance over at Merrin, seeing the determination in her eyes as she takes aim with her own weapon. "Stay close!" I call out to her, my voice barely audible over the cacophony of destruction. "We need to work together if we want to get out of here!"
She nods, her eyes never leaving the creature as she fires another bolt at its central mass. I do the same, praying that our combined attacks will be enough to bring the beast down before it's too late.
