As Merrin frantically searches for a handhold, the water pressure continues to increase, threatening to crush her. Suddenly, a faint scratching sound echoes through the passage, growing louder with each passing second. The Guardian's voice cuts through the din of the collapsing structure, "You have only a few moments to escape before the structural collapse claims you!" With this warning, the ground gives way beneath Merrin's feet, sending her plummeting into the pit trap. Merrin lands with a splash, the water closing over her head. She struggles to stay afloat, her lungs burning from lack of oxygen. The scratching sound grows louder, and she sees a pair of glowing eyes peering out from the darkness above. The tentacled horror has followed her down. Merrin knows she must act fast or risk being dragged under by the rising water.

I struggle to stay afloat in the rising water, my lungs burning from lack of oxygen. The scratching sound grows louder, and I see a pair of glowing eyes peering out from the darkness above. The tentacled horror has followed me down, its bioluminescent markings pulsing ominously in the shadows. I know I must act fast or risk being dragged under by the rising water. With a surge of adrenaline, I lash out with my dagger, striking at the creature's eyes in an attempt to blind it. The blade sinks into soft flesh with a sickening squelch, and the creature lets out a high-pitched shriek of pain. But even as I strike, I know that my efforts are futile. The water pressure continues to increase, threatening to crush me, and I can feel the ground beneath my feet giving way with each passing second. I reach out desperately, searching for any handhold or ledge to pull myself up and out of this watery grave. "Varikka!" I scream, my voice echoing through the passage. "I need your help! Reach down and grab my hand!"

But even as I call out to her, I know that she's still trapped in the grip of the Tentacled Horror, struggling for her own survival. The Guardian's warning rings in my ears: "You have only a few moments to escape before the structural collapse claims you."

And as I fight against the rising water, I can't shake the feeling that something else is lurking in the shadows of this secret passage, watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike. The bioluminescent markings on the creature's hand pulse ominously, casting eerie shadows on the walls and hinting at the horrors that may be hidden just out of sight. I know that I'm taking a huge risk by venturing deeper into this unknown territory, but I can't leave Varikka behind. No matter what dangers may lie ahead, I have to keep moving forward, keep fighting to survive, until we can find our way out of this nightmare and back into the light. With a final burst of strength, I lash out with my dagger one last time, striking at the creature's tentacles in an attempt to sever them from its body. The blade slices through flesh and bone with ease, and the creature lets out another shriek of pain before retreating back into the shadows. I know that I've bought myself a few precious moments, but I also know that my time is running out. The water continues to rise, threatening to crush me, and the ground beneath my feet grows more unstable with each passing second. But even as the darkness closes in around me, I refuse to give up hope. I know that Varikka is still out there somewhere, and I will not rest until I have found her and brought her to safety.
