Round 257 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in Shore near collapsed tower; unstable ground; lake with creatures still visible in water tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself as I wade deeper into the water. The creatures' hellish eyes flash around me, their bioluminescent markings illuminating the darkness like some twisted beacon. And then, just as suddenly, I see it - a dark shape moving beneath the surface, barely visible in the churning waters. "Varikka!" I cry out, my voice echoing across the lake. But the shape disappears just as quickly as it appeared, swallowed up by the murky depths. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what must be done. And then, with a sense of grim determination, I start to swim toward where I last saw the shadow, my arms cutting through the water with each stroke. I know I'm taking a risk, putting myself in the path of these monsters. But I can't just stand here and do nothing. Varikka is my friend, and I owe it to her to try and save her from whatever horrors await her in the depths of this cursed place. As I swim, I keep my eyes peeled for any sign of movement beneath the surface, my heart pounding in my chest. The water is cold and unforgiving, each stroke sending a fresh wave of icy shock through my veins. But I push on, determined to find Varikka and bring her back to safety. Suddenly, a tentacle lashes out from beneath the surface, barely missing my leg. I stumble back with a gasp, my heart pounding in my throat. The creatures' hellish eyes flash around me, their forms twisting and writhing just beneath the waves. I know I need to act fast, but I'm not sure where to start. The water is too murky to see anything beyond a few feet, and the creatures are moving faster with each passing moment. I take a deep breath, trying to still the frantic pounding of my heart. "Varikka!" I call out again, my voice echoing across the lake. "Where are you?"
