Round 252 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin swims deeper into the lake, a school of glowing-eyed creatures darts past her, their bioluminescent markings flashing like lanterns in the darkness. The water churns and foams around her, sending waves crashing against her chest. Suddenly, she catches sight of Varikka's hand grasping for a nearby rock formation, her eyes pleading for help. However, as Merrin reaches out to assist, a massive tentacle bursts from the depths, wrapping around Varikka's arm like a vice. The creature's grip is like a vice, threatening to pull Varikka down into the darkness. Immediate pressure: Merrin must decide how to free Varikka from the tentacle's deadly grasp, all while avoiding the lake's other dangers.
I freeze for a split second, my heart leaping into my throat at the sight of Varikka's desperate struggle. Then I launch myself forward, swimming with all my might towards where she's trapped. The water churns around me, thick and heavy, but I push through it, my arms slicing through the surface. "Varikka!" I shout, my voice echoing across the lake. "Hold on! I'm coming!"
I reach out with one hand, trying to grab onto her, while the other fumbles for the crossbow at my back. But just as I'm about to get a grip on her, another tentacle lashes out, wrapping around my ankle and yanking me back. "Let go of me, you bastard!" I snarl, kicking and thrashing against the creature's hold. I can feel its strength, powerful and unyielding, pulling me down into the depths. Varikka's eyes meet mine, wide with fear and desperation. "Merrin!" she calls out, her voice strained. "Leave me! Save yourself!"
But there's no way in hell I'm leaving her to die alone in this cursed place. We're a team, and I'll be damned if I let my friend become monster bait. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what must be done. And then, with a burst of strength born from sheer determination, I yank my leg free from the tentacle's grasp and swim towards Varikka once more. The creatures' hellish eyes glow brighter, their forms twisting and writhing beneath the surface. But I ignore them, focusing all my energy on reaching Varikka and freeing her from this nightmare.
