As I hold up the key, the hidden panel slides open, revealing a narrow passageway leading deeper into the heart of the tower. The air beyond is musty and thick with the scent of decay, but there's a sense of power to it, like the key has unlocked something important. Suddenly, the ground shudders ominously beneath our feet as a section of the wall behind us collapses, sending rocks and debris crashing down. We barely have time to react, and Varika finds herself caught in the falling rubble, her leg pinned beneath a heavy boulder. The tentacled horror looms before us, its maw open wide and ready to devour us whole, but it seems momentarily distracted by Varika's predicament. The rising water continues to lap at our feet, and the sound of glowing eyes can be heard in the distance, growing louder with every passing moment. We must decide how to proceed: try to free Varika, escape through the new passageway, or face the tentacled horror head-on.

I rush over to Varikka, my heart pounding in my chest as I try to lift the boulder off her leg. It's heavy, far heavier than anything I've ever had to move before, but I can't let that stop me. I grit my teeth and strain against the weight, feeling the muscles in my arms and legs burn with exertion.

Seraphine and the tentacled horror watch from a distance, their eyes fixed on me as I struggle to free Varikka. The rising water laps at our feet, the sound of it growing louder with each passing moment. But I can't think about that now. All that matters is getting Varikka out from under this boulder before it's too late.

With a final grunt of effort, I manage to shift the boulder enough to free Varikka's leg. She stumbles to her feet, her face etched with pain and relief. I don't have time to ask if she's okay - we need to move, and we need to move now.

I turn to the tentacled horror, my eyes narrowed. "You said you'd help us," I say, my voice tight with urgency. "So help us now. We need to find a way out of here before the whole tower comes down on our heads."

The creature regards me for a moment, its eyes glowing in the darkness. Then, slowly, it nods its head and begins to move towards the passageway, its tentacles writhing like a living thing.

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever lies ahead. The rising water is now up to our knees, and the sound of glowing eyes can be heard in the distance, growing louder with every passing moment. But we have no choice - we have to keep moving forward, praying that we'll find a way out before it's too late.

With a final glance at Varikka, I step into the passageway, my hand tight around the key and my dagger ready at my side. Whatever happens next, we'll face it together - or we'll die trying.
