The ground shudders beneath Seraphine's feet as she stumbles forward, her torch casting eerie shadows on the walls. She nearly falls again, but Merrin quickly catches her by the elbow, steadying her. Varikka takes a few steps back, her eyes fixed on the ancient symbols etched into the walls, as if searching for a hidden meaning. The water level in the chamber has risen another inch, and the air is filled with the sound of rushing water and the faint scent of decay. Merrin glances around, taking in their surroundings, and spots a small, rusty key on the ground near Seraphine. It looks like it might fit the small lock on the nearby door, but there's no time to investigate – the creatures are closing in, their bioluminescent markings pulsing brighter with every step.

I quickly scoop up the rusty key, my eyes darting between the ancient symbols etched into the walls and the creatures closing in on us from behind.

I can feel the ground trembling beneath my feet, the tower creaking and groaning around us as it continues to collapse. The water is rising rapidly, lapping at our heels as we stand in the small chamber.

Varikka's still staring at those symbols, her torch flickering in the darkness. I grab her arm, pulling her towards the door. "We don't have time for riddles," I hiss, my voice urgent. "We need to find a way out of here before this whole place comes crashing down on top of us."

I try the key in the lock, my heart pounding in my chest as I hear the creatures' guttural growls growing louder behind us. The key turns with a satisfying click, and I push the door open, revealing a narrow passageway leading deeper into the tower.

I glance back at Seraphine, my expression grim. "Stay close," I warn, my hand on the hilt of my dagger. "And keep your eyes peeled. We don't know what else might be lurking in these tunnels, but we can't afford to let our guard down for even a second."

With that, I step into the passageway, my torch held high as I scan the shadows for any sign of danger. The air is thick with the scent of decay and the sound of rushing water, but there's no time to stop and investigate. We need to keep moving forward, praying that we'll find a way out before it's too late.
