Round 196 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varikka takes aim at the glowing-eyed creature with her crossbow, she suddenly hears a loud rumbling noise behind her. The ground begins to shake violently, and the water in the lake starts rising even faster. Seraphine looks up from her search for an exit, her eyes wide with fear. The creature Varikka was aiming at lunges forward, its bioluminescent markings flashing brightly as it attacks. Varikka's crossbow bolts fly wildly, striking the creature but not quite hitting it. The Devourer of Light's roar grows louder, and the air is filled with an intense, pulsating energy. Merrin knows they need to act fast if they want to survive this. She frantically searches her inventory for any other weapons or tools that might help them escape the rising water and the creatures attacking them.
I hear the loud rumbling and feel the ground shaking beneath my feet. The water is rising fast, threatening to sweep us all away into the depths of this underwater tomb. I look around frantically, my mind racing to find a way out.
I see Varikka struggling to aim her crossbow at one of the glowing-eyed creatures, but she's having trouble keeping her balance as the ground continues to tremble. Seraphine is still focused on the ancient symbol etched into the stone wall, her eyes wide with fear as she tries to decipher its meaning.
I know we need to act fast if we want to survive this, but I'm not sure what we can do. The water is rising too quickly, and the creatures are getting bolder with each passing second. I reach for my crossbow, my fingers fumbling with the mechanism in my exhaustion. I take aim at one of the creatures, my heart pounding in my chest as I wait for the moment to strike.
But as I'm about to fire, I hear a loud crack above us. I look up just in time to see a massive stone slab falling from the ceiling, heading straight towards Varikka and Seraphine. I don't hesitate. I drop my crossbow and dive forward, using all my strength to push them out of the way.
The slab crashes down where they were standing, sending a spray of water and debris into the air. Varikka and Seraphine are both stunned, but alive. I pull them to their feet, shouting over the roar of the collapsing tower.
"We need to get out of here, now!"
