As Merrin pushes off from the ground with the gravity manipulation charm, she soars upwards, but her trajectory is short-lived. The tentacled horror has moved, its tentacles snaking out from the darkness to ensnare her once more. She tries to fly around it, but the creature's suckers grip her arms and legs, holding her in place. The water continues to rise, now chest-deep, and the chamber groans ominously as the ground beneath them shifts again. A cloud of silt and debris swirls through the water, reducing visibility to just a few feet. Merrin's eyes widen in panic as she realizes she's trapped once more, with no clear escape route in sight. The creature's tentacles begin to pull her down into the depths, and she struggles against them, but it's no use. She's being dragged towards the unknown dangers of the lake, with no way to defend herself. The water pressure is increasing exponentially, and the rising water threatens to submerge critical areas, including the opening that was their only possible escape route. The bioluminescent creatures continue to glow on the walls, casting an eerie light on the chaos unfolding before them.

I struggle against the tentacles, my heart pounding in my chest as I'm pulled deeper into the darkness. The water pressure increases exponentially, and I can feel my lungs burning as I hold my breath. The creature's grip is unrelenting, its suckers digging into my skin as it drags me further away from the surface. "Merrin!" Seraphine's voice echoes through the water, her face a mask of terror as she reaches out to me. But it's too late – I'm being pulled under, the tentacles wrapping around my limbs and tightening their hold with each passing second. I try to focus on the gravity manipulation charm, willing it to work its magic and lift me back to the surface. But the water is too thick, the pressure too great. The charm flickers in my hand, the light dimming as I'm pulled deeper into the depths. My vision starts to blur, black spots dancing at the edges of my sight. I know I don't have much time left. With a final surge of strength, I reach out to Seraphine, our fingers brushing against each other before the current pulls me away once more. "Find... Varikka..." I gasp, my voice barely audible through the water. "Tell her... I'm sorry..."

And with that, I'm dragged down into the abyss, the tentacles tightening their grip as they pull me towards an unknown fate. The last thing I see is the faint glow of Seraphine's magic, a distant light in the darkness as I'm consumed by the depths of the lake.
