Round 116 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin and Seraphine frantically search for a way out, the water continues to rise, threatening to engulf them. The bioluminescent creatures cast an eerie glow on the walls, making it difficult to see. Suddenly, a loud creak echoes through the chamber, and the ground beneath them shifts again, causing the flat stone they had pushed towards the opening to fall, blocking their path.
"Damn it!" I cry out as the stone falls, blocking our path to the opening. The water is up to my chest now, and I can feel the cold seeping into my bones. Seraphine's face is pale with fear, but there's a determined set to her jaw.
"Okay," I say, taking a deep breath to steady myself, "let's think this through. We need to find another way out of here, and fast."
I scan the chamber again, my eyes darting from one wall to the next, searching for any sign of an opening or a hidden passage. The bioluminescent creatures cast an eerie glow on everything, making it hard to see clearly.
"Seraphine, can you try using your magic to sense any currents or air pockets in the water?" I ask, turning to face her. "Maybe there's a way out we're not seeing."
As I speak, I feel another jolt run through the chamber, and the ground shifts again beneath my feet. I stumble, nearly losing my balance in the rising water.
"Careful!" Seraphine cries out, reaching out to steady me. "We need to be ready for anything. This whole place could come down on top of us at any moment."
I nod, my heart pounding in my chest as I try to keep my footing. The water is up to my chin now, and I can feel the panic rising in my throat.
"We've got to keep moving," I say, my voice shaking with fear, "and we need to find a way to get above this water before it's too late."
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever comes next. The chamber groans and creaks around us, and I know we don't have much time left. But I also know that giving up is not an option. We have to keep fighting, no matter how hopeless things seem.
"Come on, Seraphine," I say, reaching out to take her hand, "let's see if we can find a way to climb these walls and get out of here before this whole place collapses on top of us."
I feel the cold water pressing against my chest as I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. The bioluminescent creatures around us seem to be pulsating in time with my frantic heartbeat, their eerie glow illuminating the panic on Merrin's face. I know we have only moments before this entire chamber collapses and buries us alive.
"I have an idea," I say, my voice strained but determined. I pull a small, intricate glass orb from a pouch at my side – one of my most powerful magic items. "This is a gravity manipulation charm. It should allow one of us to float or even fly for a short time."
I hold it up, letting the light catch its facets. The water around us continues to rise, now lapping at our chins.
"I can cast a spell to levitate you," I say, looking Merrin straight in the eyes, "but only one of us can escape this way. You need to get out and find help."
Merrin's eyes widen in shock and fear, but I press on, my voice firm. "We don't have time to argue about it. This is our best chance."
The chamber groans again, the sound of falling debris echoing off the walls. A cloud of silt and debris swirls through the water, making it even harder to see.
"Quickly now," I say, my hands already moving in intricate patterns as I begin the incantation. The orb in my hand starts to glow with an intense, pulsating light. "Take this charm, focus on your will to fly, and when I release you, push off the ground as hard as you can."
I hold out the orb to Merrin, the water churning around us. The air crackles with magical energy as my spell takes shape.
"Go find the others," I add, my voice dropping to a near-whisper, "and come back for me before it's too late."
