As I emerge from beneath the waves, sputtering and gasping for air, I see Seraphine still struggling towards me, her robes tangling around her legs as she fights against the current. "Seraphine!" I call out, my voice hoarse and strained. "I'm here! Keep fighting!"

But even as I speak, I feel the water rushing past me, cold and unforgiving. The tower shudders violently, and I hear a deafening crack of stone somewhere in the depths of the chamber. I know we don't have much time left. A massive wave crashes against the chamber wall, sending debris flying everywhere. Seraphine is swept off her feet once more, tumbling towards the edge of the lake with the water closing in behind her. Her arms flail wildly as she tries to regain her balance, but it's no use - she's pulled under the surface, her screams muffled by the rushing water. The tentacle thrashes closer, its suckers leaving trails of muck and debris in its wake. I know Varikka is still trapped beneath the surface, struggling against the creature's unseen force.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I watch in horror as Seraphine is swept away by the churning water, her screams muffled beneath the rushing waves. The tentacle thrashes closer, its suckers leaving trails of muck and debris in its wake. I know Varikka is still trapped beneath the surface, struggling against the creature's unseen force. "Varikka!" I call out, my voice hoarse and strained. "Hold on! I'm coming!"

But even as I speak, I feel the ground shift beneath my feet, tilting at an unsettling angle. The tower groans ominously around us, its ancient stones creaking and shifting with each passing moment. I know we don't have much time left before the entire structure collapses, burying us all beneath its rubble. "Seraphine!" I shout, my voice echoing through the chamber. "Varikka! Can you hear me?"

There is no answer, only the roar of the collapsing tower and the churning of the water. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what I know must come next. With a surge of adrenaline, I plunge into the water once more, my arms slicing through the churning waves as I swim towards where the tentacle last surfaced. "Varikka!" I call out, my voice strained with urgency. "Swim towards my voice! I'll find you!"

But even as I speak, I feel the water rushing past me, cold and unforgiving. The tower shudders violently, and I hear a deafening crack of stone somewhere in the depths of the chamber. I know we don't have much time left, and I fear that the tower will not hold much longer. "Varikka!" I shout once more, my voice hoarse with effort as I push myself through the water towards her. "Hold on! We're here!"

Seraphine

Seraphine · Wizard

I hear Merrin calling out for Varikka, her voice strained with urgency as she plunges into the churning water once more. The sound of my own name being called is muffled by the rushing water around me, but it gives me a burst of desperate hope. I struggle against the current, my arms slicing through the waves as I try to swim towards Merrin's voice. But with each stroke, my strength seems to fade, my limbs growing heavier and more sluggish.
As I fight to keep my head above water, I see a massive wave cresting over the chamber wall, a wall of water that threatens to sweep us all away. The tower groans ominously around us, its ancient stones creaking and shifting with each passing moment. I know we don't have much time left before the entire structure collapses, burying us all beneath its rubble.
My vision begins to blur, the edges of my sight darkening as the lack of oxygen takes its toll. I feel a sudden jolt, and my foot slips on a patch of smooth stone, sending me tumbling forward. I throw my arms out to catch myself, but it's too late - I'm swept off my feet by the surging water, my head dipping below the surface as I struggle to stay afloat.
As I emerge from beneath the waves, sputtering and gasping for air, I see Merrin still struggling towards me, her face etched with fear and exhaustion. She is fighting her way through the churning water, her arms flailing as she tries to reach Varikka. "Varikka!" I hear her cry out, her voice echoing through the chamber. "Hold on! We're here!"
But even as I see Merrin's determination, I feel a deep sense of dread wash over me. The tentacle thrashes through the water, its suckers leaving trails of muck and debris in its wake. Varikka is still trapped beneath the surface, struggling against the creature's unseen force. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what I know must come next. With a surge of adrenaline, I plunge into the water once more, my arms slicing through the churning waves as I swim towards where the tentacle last surfaced.
I know we are all fighting a losing battle against the tower's ancient magic and the forces of nature that have been unleashed within its walls. But I also know that we cannot abandon our friend to this fate, and I will not let Merrin face this alone. "Merrin!" I call out, my voice hoarse with effort as I push myself through the water towards her. "We need to get out of here! Now!"

But even as I speak, I know that leaving is not an option. We cannot abandon Varikka to this creature, and we must find a way to stop the tower's collapse before it buries us all alive. The only question now is whether we will be able to save Varikka in time, or if we will all be doomed to share her fate beneath the waves. "Varikka!" I call out once more, my voice strained and desperate as I fight against the current to reach my friend. "Hold on! Help is coming!"
