Merrin's mace clatters against the ground as she falls, the sound echoing through the chamber. Water rushes past her, cold and unforgiving, as she tumbles head over heels. She lands hard on her side, gasping for breath as she struggles to sit up. The tower groans ominously around her, the sound vibrating through every bone in her body. Varikka's voice is muffled beneath the surface of the lake, but Merrin can sense her friend's fear and desperation. The tentacle thrashes closer, its suckers leaving trails of muck and debris in its wake. Merrin knows she must act quickly to save Varikka before the creature drags her friend into the depths of the lake. With a surge of adrenaline, Merrin scrambles to her feet, her eyes fixed on the tentacle. She knows she can't take it down with a single swing, but she also knows she can't let it drag Varikka under. The tower shudders violently, and the water surges forward once more, threatening to sweep Merrin away.

I hear Merrin cry out as she loses her footing, her mace clattering against the ground. The sound of rushing water fills my ears, and I struggle to stay upright on the tilting floor. The tower groans ominously around us, its ancient stones creaking and shifting with each passing moment. "Varikka!" I call out, my voice straining over the roar of the collapsing structure. "Merrin, where are you?"

As I push myself to my feet, I see a glimpse of Merrin's form through the darkness, her silhouette backlit by the eerie glow of the lake. She is crouched low, her arms outstretched as she reaches for something in the water. "Merrin, what are you doing?" I shout, taking a few unsteady steps towards her.

But before I can take another step, the ground beneath my feet shifts violently, and I lose my balance once more. I stumble forward, my arms flailing as I try to catch myself. As I fall, I see Merrin whirl around, her eyes wide with alarm. "Seraphine!" she calls out, but her voice is drowned out by the deafening roar of a massive wave crashing against the chamber walls.

I land hard on my back, the wind knocked from my lungs as the water surges over me. I gasp and sputter, my robes tangling around my legs as I struggle to stand. As I push myself up, I see Merrin fighting her way through the churning water, her arms flailing as she tries to reach Varikka. "Varikka!" I hear her cry out, her voice barely audible over the roar of the collapsing tower. "Hold on!"

I take a few unsteady steps towards them, my heart hammering in my chest as I try to make sense of the chaos around me. The tower groans again, and I feel a deep sense of dread wash over me. We are running out of time, and I fear that the tower will not hold much longer. "Merrin!" I shout, my voice strained with urgency. "We need to get out of here! Now!"

But as I watch Merrin struggle against the current, her arms straining as she reaches for Varikka, I know that leaving is not an option. We cannot abandon our friend to this fate, and I will not let Merrin face this alone. "I'm coming!" I call out, my voice hoarse with effort as I push my way through the churning water towards her. "Hold on, Varikka! We're here!"
