Round 1000 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin's arm is pulled backward, she feels a searing pain as her hand is torn from the rock. She cries out in agony as her arm is pulled backward, leaving her dangling in the water. The Guardian bursts through the stone door, its eyes fixed on Merrin as it readies itself to strike. The current surges forward, carrying Merrin downstream, and she finds herself hurtling toward a narrow, treacherous waterfall. The Guardian lunges forward, its jaws wide open, and Merrin realizes she must act quickly to avoid becoming its next meal. She frantically scans her surroundings, desperate for an escape route or a way to distract the Guardian. Varikka's injured ankle throbs with every rock of the tunnel, making each step a painful test of endurance. The air is thick with the smell of damp earth and decay, and the sound of dripping water echoes through the tunnel, punctuated by the Guardian's growing roar.
I cry out in pain as my arm is wrenched free from the root, my hand throbbing where it scraped against the jagged stone. The current drags me downstream, the water churning violently around me. I catch a glimpse of the Guardian bursting through the door behind me, its eyes fixed on my form as it lunges forward with a snarl. My heart hammers in my chest as I frantically search for anything to grab onto, any way to escape the Guardian's clutches. The tunnel walls rush by in a blur of slick stone and shadow, the sound of the waterfall growing louder with every passing second. Suddenly, I spot a narrow ledge jutting out from the wall, just visible through the swirling currents. With a burst of desperate strength, I throw myself towards it, my fingers scrabbling for purchase on the wet stone. My nails bite into the rock as I haul myself up and out of the water, collapsing onto the ledge in a gasping heap. For a moment, I simply lie there, chest heaving as I try to catch my breath. But I know I can't afford to rest for long. The Guardian's roar echoes through the tunnel, growing closer with every passing second. I force myself to my feet, staggering slightly as I try to regain my balance on the narrow ledge. In the distance, I think I see a glimmer of light, barely visible through the darkness. It could be another way out, or it could be nothing more than a trick of the mind. But with the Guardian closing in and no other options in sight, I know I have to take the risk. Taking a deep breath, I start to make my way along the ledge, one careful step at a time. The stone is slick and treacherous under my feet, and the drop to the churning water below seems impossibly far. But I can't let that stop me now. Varikka is out there somewhere, hurt and alone, and I refuse to let fear hold me back. With each step, I edge closer to the light, my heart pounding in my chest as I pray that it will be enough to lead me to safety. And if not... well, I've faced worse odds before. This is just another challenge for a rogue like me to overcome.
