Round 60 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Seraphine stumbles to her feet, her eyes fixed on the skeletal hand grasping the edge of the pit. The creature's grip is surprisingly strong, and it slowly begins to pull Varika down into the depths of the lake. Seraphine's staff glows weakly in her hands as she takes a step forward, trying to get closer to the creature.
I watch in horror as the skeletal hand tightens its grip on the edge of the pit, slowly dragging Varrika down into the churning depths. My heart races as I take a step forward, trying to get closer to the creature. But the water is rising quickly, now up to my waist and growing deeper by the second. I can feel the current pulling at my legs, threatening to drag me under.
"Varrika!" I call out, my voice barely audible over the roar of falling rock and churning water. "Hold on! We're coming for you!"
I look around frantically, searching for any path that might lead us to safety. The chamber is crumbling around us, chunks of stone and debris raining down from above. I can feel the cold water seeping into my bones, chilling me to the core. My staff glows weakly in my hands as I take another step forward, trying to get closer to the creature.
"Seraphine," I say, turning to face the wizard. "What can you do? Any magic that might help us?"
She shakes her head, looking as frightened as I feel. "I... I don't know," she stammers, her voice barely audible over the din. "My staff is nearly depleted, and I'm not sure if my spells will be enough against something like this."
I nod grimly, my mind racing as I try to think of a way out. The water is now up to my chest, and I can feel the current pulling at my legs, threatening to drag me under. "Then we'll have to do this the hard way," I mutter, reaching for my crossbow. "Stay close, and keep your eyes open. And whatever you do... don't let them pull you into that water."
With those words, I wade forward, my weapon at the ready. The tentacled horror looms before me, its eyes fixed on my every move. But I can't afford to hesitate. Varrika is out there somewhere, and I'll be damned if I let her die alone in this godforsaken place. I take a deep breath, steadying myself as best I can. "Varrika!" I call out again, my voice hoarse with desperation. "Hold on! We're coming for you!"
And with that, I launch myself forward, ready to fight tooth and nail for our survival...and for the chance to see Merrin Quickstep one more time.
