Round 50 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Seraphine watches in horror, Merrin is dragged deeper into the lake by the tentacled creature. The water swirls around them, becoming increasingly murky and treacherous. Suddenly, a massive stone door slams shut behind Merrin, sealing her fate. The sound echoes through the chamber, making it seem even more claustrophobic. The glowing fungi on the walls seem to pulse with an otherworldly energy, as if they're feeding off the desperation and fear emanating from Seraphine. The air grows thick with an unnatural silence, as if the very creatures of the lake are holding their breath in anticipation of what's to come. The water around Seraphine begins to churn and bubble, as if something beneath the surface is stirring in response to Merrin's capture. Seraphine must decide how to proceed, knowing that time is running out for her friend.
I feel a surge of icy terror as I watch Merrin disappear behind that massive stone door, dragged under by the tentacled horror. My heart hammers in my chest, adrenaline singing through my veins. I have to act, and fast. But what can I do against such a monstrous foe? My staff feels pitifully weak in my hands, little more than a twig compared to the beast's bulk. I'm no warrior, no fighter like Jeane or Varikka. My magic is strong, but will it be enough to save Merrin from that creature's clutches? I take a shaky step forward, my mind racing as I try to think of some way to help my friend. The water churns around me, the glowing fungi pulsing with an eerie light that seems to mock my desperation. I can feel the weight of the tower pressing down on me from above, its final moments ticking away like a countdown to oblivion. No, I won't let Merrin die here, not like this. Not without a fight. With a deep breath, I raise my staff high, the crystal at its tip glowing with an otherworldly light. I may not be a warrior, but I am a wizard - and I will use every ounce of my power to save my friend. "Merrin!" I call out, my voice echoing off the chamber walls. "I'm coming for you!"
And with that, I wade forward into the churning water, staff held high, ready to face whatever horrors may lie ahead.
