Varrika's voice cuts through the tension. "We need to get out of here—now! We can't keep this up much longer." The creature's eyes flash with an eerie green flame as it staggers back, its rotting flesh beginning to regenerate at an alarming rate. Jeane's shadowy tendrils continue to wrap around its ankles, trying desperately to slow its advance. "Whatever's happening inside—inside the gate—that can't be good news," Jeane calls out, her voice strained with effort as she maintains control over the spell. Merrin feels her stomach drop. The cracking of stone echoes from deeper within the tower, sending a jolt through the group. "Whatever's happening back there—inside the gate—it can't be good news," she thinks desperately. The creature's regeneration is already making their current fight untenable, and now they have to contend with whatever's breaking through the walls inside? Her demonic nature screams at her to flee, but her human will won't let her abandon her companions. *The shadowy tendrils lash out again, seeking to trip or slow the creature's advance, b...

Jeane's concentration wavers as another wave of primal fear washes over her. The demonic energy within her recoils from the creature’s presence, making her own magic feel fragile and unstable. "I can't hold it much longer," she gasps, her voice tight with strain. "The thing's getting stronger—faster—and I... I don't know how to stop it!"

Seraphine steps forward, her staff raised. "Let me help," she offers, already beginning to weave a spell of her own. The air around her crackles with arcane energy as she prepares to cast. "A sleep spell—perhaps we can slow its regeneration if it's unconscious!"

Halie nods quickly, her hands moving in a complex pattern as she begins to chant. "I'll reinforce the barrier around us," she says, her voice steady despite the fear in her eyes. "If something worse is coming through that gate, we need every bit of protection we can muster!"

Merrin's crossbow remains trained on the creature, her finger poised over the trigger. "What about the gate?" she asks, her voice tight with apprehension. "Should we try to widen the crack—see if we can get inside before whatever's breaking through joins the party?"

Varrika shakes her head vigorously. "Too dangerous," she growls, her grip tightening on her mace. "We don't know what's in there—what kind of traps or guardians might be waiting. And now? Now we've got this thing to deal with first!"

The creature lurches forward suddenly, breaking free from Jeane's weakening tendrils. Its rotting flesh peels away in chunks as it moves, revealing glimpses of bone beneath. "FUCK!" Jeane screams, stumbling back as her spell finally collapses completely.

Merrin fires her crossbow instinctively, the bolt striking the creature squarely in its chest—but the thing barely staggers, the wound already beginning to close. "Shit—shit—shit!"

Seraphine completes her sleep spell, a wave of shimmering energy washing over the abomination. For a moment, it seems to work—the creature's movements slow, its eyes dimming slightly. "It's working!" she cries out, a flicker of hope in her voice.

But then the creature's head snaps up, its eyes flaring brighter than before. A guttural roar erupts from its throat as it shakes off the spell's effects, seeming even more enraged now. "NO!" Seraphine gasps, stumbling back in horror.

Halie's barrier spell flares to life around them just as the creature charges forward, her timing perfect but her face pale with fear. "Hold!"

Varrika steps forward immediately, her mace raised. The heavy weapon connects with a sickening crunch of splintering bone, staggering the creature once more—but not stopping it. "FUCK—it's like hitting a wall!"

Jeane scrambles back, her hands moving in complex patterns as she begins another spell. "Everyone—scatter! I'm trying something new here—something messy!"*

The creature crashes into Halie's barrier with tremendous force, the magical shield holding but glowing ominously under the assault. Merrin fires another bolt, then another, each one finding its mark but doing little to slow the thing down. "This isn't working!"

Seraphine begins to back away slowly, her eyes wide with terror. "We need a new plan," she says, her voice shaking. "This thing—it's beyond anything I've ever encountered. We can't keep fighting it like this!"

Varrika grunts with effort as she swings her mace again, the blow glancing off the creature's shoulder. "Merrin—get back! I can't hold it alone!"

The cracking sound from inside the tower grows louder, more insistent. Something massive is definitely moving through the walls now, getting closer by the second. "Whatever's coming—it's almost here!"

Jeane completes her spell with a cry of effort, a wave of shadowy energy erupting from her hands. The darkness engulfs the creature, swirling and writhing around its form. "DIE!"

For a moment, it seems to be working—the abomination's movements slow, its form beginning to dissolve into shadows and decaying matter. But then the magic flickers and dies, leaving the thing still standing, now even more enraged than before.

The creature lets out another deafening roar, its eyes burning with malevolent green flame as it prepares to charge again. "NO—NO—NO!"

Halie's barrier groans under the strain, magical energy crackling ominously as cracks begin to form in its surface. "I can't hold it much longer!"

Merrin drops her crossbow and draws her dagger, moving to flank the creature. "If we can't kill it—maybe we can dodge it!" she shouts, her voice tight with fear but determined.

Seraphine raises her staff again, preparing another spell. "Stand back—I'm trying something risky!"

Varrika plants her feet wide, ready to meet the charge head-on. "Everyone—NOW!*"

The creature lunges forward with terrifying speed, its rotting arms outstretched. Halie's barrier shatters completely as Varikka swings her mace in a desperate arc. The heavy weapon connects with the thing's skull just as Merrin darts past its flank, her dagger slicing deep into its side.
