The abomination charges through the widening crack in the gate, its green-veined form moving with unnatural speed. The ancient magic binding this place begins to shudder and crack. "Everyone back! Maintain distance!" Jeane shouts, her demon wings spreading instinctively as she struggles to contain the creature with a binding spell. The dark energy radiating from it is overwhelming.

Merrin's heart pounds as she scrambles away, her rogue's eyes scanning for escape routes. "What in all the hells is THAT?" She hisses, already moving to put distance between herself and the abomination. Her fingers twitch towards her crossbow, but close quarters and darkness make it a risky option.

Seraphine's sharp eyes narrow as she begins weaving a defensive spell formation. "Jeane, maintain control!" She calls out, her voice steady despite the fear coiling in her gut. The air around them is thick with dark energy now, those pulsing runes on the gate flaring like they're about to explode. This is bad. "Whatever's behind that door... it's not just skeletons or magical wards. It's something ancient and powerful."

Varrika's mace crashes into the abomination's chest, sending it stumbling back with a sickening crunch. The dwarf warrior takes a step forward, her eyes locked onto the creature as she grits her teeth against the strain. "This thing... it's not just resisting anymore!" She growls, feeling the ground beneath her feet begin to shudder. The ancient magic binding this place is starting to unravel.

Jeane feels her concentration waver for a moment as a strange system alert flashes through her mind—what was that? But no, she can't let it distract her. The abomination is pushing back harder now, its green-fire eyes blazing with renewed fury. "It's getting stronger!" She grits out through clenched teeth, her arms shaking with effort as she maintains the binding spell. The creature is drawing on whatever power lies beyond the gate.

Merrin hisses in frustration, knowing her crossbow is useless in these close quarters. She backs towards the wall, eyes scanning for any advantage or escape route. "We need a plan!" She hisses urgently to the group. "This thing's not going down easy!"

Seraphine completes her spell formation, a shimmering barrier springing into existence between them and the abomination. "Everyone behind this! It won't hold forever, but it'll buy us time to think!" The dark energy from the creature pulses against her shield, each impact sapping more of her magical reserves.

Varrika raises her mace again, ready to strike if the barrier fails. "We need to seal that gate before whatever's behind it gets out!" She shouts, her dwarf strength barely enough to contain this ancient horror. The ground beneath them trembles more violently now.

Jeane grits her teeth, pouring everything she has into maintaining the binding spell. "I can't... hold much longer!" He gasps, his demonic nature warring with his human control. The abomination's power is overwhelming him.

Merrin spots a narrow corridor branching off from their position—an escape route! "This way! We can funnel it into the tight space and contain its movement!" She calls out, already moving to draw the creature towards the passage. "Everyone follow!"

Seraphine nods sharply, channeling the last of her energy into reinforcing the barrier. "Go! I'll hold it here for as long as I can!" The dark energy pulses intensify, each one threatening to shatter her shield.

Varrika charges forward with a roar, her mace swinging in a powerful arc that catches the abomination off-guard and sends it stumbling towards the corridor. "Move your asses! We're taking this thing down!"

The creature lurches into the narrow passage, its bulk barely fitting through the doorway. Jeane collapses to his knees, gasping for breath as the binding spell finally breaks. "It worked... for now..." He pants, wiping sweat from his eyes.

Merrin grins fiercely, already moving to set up a series of traps along the corridor walls. "Now we have it where we want it—contained and isolated!" She calls back over her shoulder. "Time to make this thing regret ever stepping through that gate!"

Seraphine stumbles into the corridor, her magical reserves depleted but her eyes bright with determination. "What's the plan?" She asks, already scanning for weaknesses in the abomination's form.

Varrika slams the main gate shut behind them, sealing off their escape route but also cutting off any reinforcements from the outside world. "We end this thing before it ends us!" The dwarf warrior growls, her eyes blazing with fierce resolve. The ground has stopped shaking—the ancient magic binding this place is holding for now.

Jeane catches his breath, the demonic exhaustion slowly fading as his human side regains control. "I can help with crowd control spells..." He offers weakly. "And I know a thing or two about resisting corruption..."

Merrin finishes setting her trap array and steps back to join the group. "Alright—we've got a choke point here, magical barriers on both ends of the corridor, and enough firepower to take this thing down... if we coordinate!" She grins savagely. "Let's show it what happens when you mess with adventurers in their element!"

Seraphine nods approvingly. "Good. Now—Varrika and I will focus on direct damage and keeping its attention forward. Merrin, you handle any surprises or flanking attacks from the sides. Jeane, your job is to maintain crowd control and support magic—we'll need every edge we can get." She pauses, her sharp eyes scanning the group. "Questions? Concerns? Or are we ready to turn this undead bastard into ash?"

Varrika cracks her knuckles. "I'm ready. Let's make this thing regret ever stepping through that gate."

Jeane nods tiredly but firmly. "I've got your back—whatever support magic I can provide, you'll have it."

Merrin grins fiercely. "I'll keep the sides clear and watch for any weak spots!"

Seraphine smiles with cold satisfaction. "Good. Then let's begin."
