The air grows heavy with unnatural energy as the ancient symbols on the wall pulse with an ominous light, casting dancing shadows across the stone floor. Seraphine steps forward, her expression grim as she takes in the unsettling scene before them. The green mist below the platform shifts and swirls, tendrils reaching out as if drawn by Halie's presence. "Halie, wait!" she calls out, her voice sharp with concern. The air around them grows colder by the moment, and the very stones seem to groan in protest.*

She moves closer to Merrin, her hand instinctively going to the hilt of her mace. The ancient binding circles etched into the stone floor begin to glow faintly, responding to Halie's touch as she traces their intricate patterns with her fingers. This is not a situation to be approached lightly. We know nothing of what binds that creature or the consequences of releasing it. Seraphine's sharp eyes scan the chamber, taking in every detail of the ancient architecture and the strange symbols etched into the stone. The binding circles... they're unlike anything I've ever seen in my studies. Such intricate patterns, woven with arcane energy that still persists after all these centuries.*

She crouches slightly, peering at the ground near the edge of the platform. And what's this? Seraphine spots a small, tattered piece of parchment half-buried beneath some ancient dust and debris. She carefully extracts it, brushing away the dirt to reveal hasty scrawls in faded ink: "Beyond the shadows lies the Test." Her expression darkens as she reads aloud. A test? What manner of trial do these mad sorcerers leave for us? Seraphine's gaze shifts back to the writhing form of the Bound Spirit, her voice dropping to a whisper. We may be walking into something far more dangerous than mere skeletons and collapsing catwalks.

Above them, the sound of shifting stone echoes through the chamber. Seraphine looks up sharply, her hand still on her mace. Jeane? Everything alright up there? The structure seems... unstable. She moves closer to Merrin once more, ready to catch her if needed. We need to be careful here—both above and below.*
