Halie's holy symbol begins to falter as a second wave of skeletons emerges from the shadows, their bony hands outstretched and grasping. The air crackles with dark energy, and the metal on Halie's symbol starts to corrode, its light weakening. The group's magic is failing, and the skeletons press forward, their numbers growing with each passing moment.

Jeane

Jeane · Sorcerer

I raise my wand and begin channeling energy into it, feeling the familiar tingle of arcane power coursing through me. The air around us crackles with dark magic, but I focus on maintaining control over my spell. "Everyone stand back!" I shout, "I'm going to try something that might… well, it's either going to work or make things a lot worse." My wings unfurl slightly as I concentrate, the tips glowing faintly.

Halie

Halie · Cleric

The air crackles with dark energy, and I can feel my holy symbol growing hot in my hands, its metal starting to corrode. The skeletons press forward, their bony hands grasping at us, and I know we're in trouble. This tower is alive with dark magic, and it's consuming our power. I raise the symbol higher, focusing all my will into it, but the light flickers and dims. "Stay close!" I shout, "We can't let them separate us!" My eyes scan the corridor ahead, searching for any sign of weakness in these undead creatures or a way out of this mess. Suddenly, I notice something strange about the stonework on the wall—complex patterns that seem to pulse with dark energy. An idea forms in my mind, and despite the risk, it might be our best chance. "Seraphine!" I call out, "Can you target those runes? If we can disrupt their power source, maybe we can weaken these skeletons!"

As I speak, I already begin to move, positioning myself between the advancing horde and my companions. The mace in my other hand is ready, but I know it's not enough—we need a real solution, and fast.

Seraphine

Seraphine · Wizard

I see what Halie is talking about – those runes are pulsing with a dark energy that seems to be fueling the skeletons' undead animation. It's a risky idea, but right now, risk might be our only option. "Yes, I can try to disrupt them," I call back, my voice strained as I focus on maintaining the concentration for my own protective spell.
My staff feels hot in my hands, its magic responding to the chaos around us. The skeletons are still frozen by my spell, but for how long? Every second counts. "Halie, Merrin, Varrika – form a circle and hold the line! Jeane, if you can boost my power, do it now!" I shout, my gaze fixed on the runes.
I begin to weave a new spell, one designed to unravel complex magical patterns like those on the wall. My staff glows an even brighter white, its light cutting through the darkness of the tower. The air around me crackles with energy as I channel everything I have into this single, desperate attempt. "Hold on!" I cry out, my voice cracking with effort. "This is going to be big!"

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I step forward, my mace at the ready as I scan the horde of skeletons before us. The air crackles with dark energy, and I can feel it pressing against my skin like a physical weight. But there's no time to ponder that now - we're in a fight for our lives. "Seraphine, do what you can with those runes," I call out, "We'll hold the line here."

I glance at Halie, noting the strain on her face as she tries to maintain her holy symbol's protection. "Halie, keep that symbol up as long as you can. It's our best defense against these bastards."

My eyes meet Jeane's, and I see the determination in her gaze even as her wings struggle for stability in this oppressive atmosphere. "Jeane, when Seraphine's ready, give her everything you've got. We need that spell to work."

I turn back to face the skeletons, my mace raised high. "Alright, you undead shits," I growl, "Let's see what you're made of."

With a battle cry, I charge forward, my mace swinging in a wide arc. The first skeleton crumbles under the blow, but there are so many more. I can feel the darkness pressing in around us, threatening to overwhelm us at any moment.

"This is our only way out," I mutter to myself, "We fight through or we die here. No other choice."

I meet the next skeleton's attack head-on, my mace clashing against its bony arm with a sickening crunch. "Come on then!" I shout, "Let's finish this!"

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I dodge to the side as a skeleton lunges at me, its bony fingers grasping. "Shit!" I curse under my breath, bringing my mace up to crush the skull of another that's trying to flank me. The air is thick with dark energy, and I can feel it pressing against my skin like a physical weight. But there's no time to ponder that now - we're in a fight for our lives. I catch sight of Halie's holy symbol starting to corrode, its light dimming. "Halie!" I call out, "Your symbol! It's failing!"

My eyes dart around, searching for any weakness in these undead attackers or a way out of this mess. Suddenly, I notice the complex runes on the wall that Seraphine is targeting. It's a risky idea, but right now, risk might be our only option. I position myself between the advancing horde and my companions, my mace ready to swing at any skeleton that gets too close. "Seraphine!" I shout, "Do what you can with those runes! Everyone else, hold the line!"

As I fight off another skeleton, I feel a chill run down my spine. This tower is alive with dark magic, and it's consuming our power. We need to find a way to shut this down before we're overwhelmed. I glance at Jeane, seeing the determination in her eyes as she prepares to boost Seraphine's spell. "Jeane," I call out, "When Seraphine's ready, give her everything you've got. This is our only chance."

With a grunt of effort, I bring my mace down on another skeleton, feeling the bone crunch beneath my blow. "Come on then!" I shout, "Let's finish this!"
