The tentacled creature lunges forward, its long, slender arms outstretched as it attempts to ensnare Merrin with its writhing appendages. The creature's eyes burn with an otherworldly energy, and its very presence seems to warp the air around it. Varrika readies her mace, its heavy head a blur as she prepares to strike. "Now!" she calls out, her voice low and urgent. Merrin raises her crossbow, taking aim at the creature's central mass. The bolt flies true, striking the creature with a loud thud that sends it stumbling backward. The creature's tentacles lash wildly, barely missing Merrin as she ducks to avoid their grasp. Varrika takes advantage of the distraction to strike, her mace biting deep into the creature's side.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I dodge the creature's grasping tentacles, my heart pounding in my chest. The crossbow bolt finds its mark, striking the creature with a sickening thud. It staggers back, its eyes blazing with fury.

Varrika's mace swings wide, catching the creature on its side. I can hear the impact even from where I stand, and the creature lets out a roar of pain that shakes the very walls of the cavern.

I nock another bolt, my hands shaking slightly as I take aim. The creature is still alive, still moving. It's not going down easily.

I glance over at Varrika, seeing the sweat on her brow and the grim determination in her eyes. We've faced many dangers together, but never anything quite like this. Whatever this test is, whatever horrors the Voice has in store for us... we'll face them together. Just like always.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I watch as Merrin's bolt finds its mark, striking the creature with a sickening thud. The beast staggers back, its eyes blazing with fury. I can see Varrika circling around, her mace raised high as she prepares to strike again.

"Keep it up, Merrin!" I call out, my voice ringing clear in the cavernous space. "We've got this thing on the ropes!"

I nock another bolt, my hands steady and sure. The creature is still alive, still moving. But it's not going down easily. I can see the determination in Varrika's eyes, the grim set of her jaw as she advances on the beast.

Together, we've faced many dangers before. We've stared down demons and monsters of all kinds, and emerged victorious. This creature may be powerful, but it is nothing compared to the strength of our wills.

I take aim once more, my finger tightening on the trigger of my crossbow. Whatever comes next, whatever horrors the Voice has in store... we'll face them together. Just like always.
