As Merrin and Varrika examine the rocks, they notice that the pattern of pebbles seems to be shifting, rearranging itself into a new sequence. The air around them begins to distort, as if reality is being warped by the rocks' subtle magic. Suddenly, the figure on the far shore raises a hand, and the rocks come to a stop, forming a clear message: "Beware the pool." Varrika's eyes narrow, her grip on her mace tightening. "What do you think it means?" she growls, her voice low and dangerous. Merrin consults her map, trying to locate a pool in the tunnel they're navigating. "I think it's referring to the central pool we discovered earlier," she says, her brow furrowed in concern. "But what if it's not just a warning? What if it's a trap?"

I squint at the message, my heart racing as I try to decipher its meaning. Beware the pool? What could that possibly mean?

"It's got to be referring to the central pool we discovered earlier," I say, my voice tight with tension. "But what if it's not just a warning? What if it's some kind of trap?"

I glance over at Varrika, my eyes meeting hers in a moment of shared understanding. We've faced many dangers together, but never anything quite like this.

"Varrika," I say, my voice low and urgent. "We need to be careful. Whatever this thing wants... whatever it is... we can't just rush in and hope for the best. We need a plan."

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever challenges may lie ahead. Whatever The Voice has in store for us, whatever horrors await us at the end of this tunnel - I know one thing for sure. Varrika and I will face them together. Just like always.

"Let's see what those rocks are trying to tell us," I say, my voice low and dangerous. "And then... then we'll figure out what to do about that pool."

I take a step towards the rocks, my hand still resting on the hilt of my crossbow. I can feel the weight of it in my hand, the smooth wood of the stock pressed against my palm. It's a comfort, a reminder that we have a way to defend ourselves if things go wrong.

"Stay close to me," I whisper to Varrika, my voice tight with tension. "And be ready for anything."

I take another step forward, my eyes fixed on the message carved into the rocks. I can feel the weight of the crossbow in my hand, the smooth wood of the stock pressed against my palm. It's a comfort, a reminder that we have a way to defend ourselves if things go wrong.

"Let's see what this thing wants," I say, my voice low and dangerous. "But be ready for anything. We don't know what we're up against here."

Varrika · Fighter

I narrow my eyes at the message, my hand tightening on my mace. "Aye, could be a trap. But we need to investigate further."

I glance around, taking in our surroundings with a critical eye. "Those rocks... they're not just random debris. They've been arranged deliberately. And that figure on the shore... it's too convenient, too perfect."

I take a step towards the pool, my footfalls echoing in the cavernous space. "Whatever this thing wants, whatever it is... we need to be ready for anything. Stay sharp, Merrin. And keep your crossbow at the ready."

As we approach the pool, I can see that the water is shimmering with an eerie light, as if it's imbued with some kind of magic. I can feel a tingling sensation in my hands, like the air is charged with energy.

"I don't like this," I mutter, my voice low and dangerous. "Something's not right here. Keep your eyes peeled for any signs of danger."

I take another step towards the pool, my hand still resting on the hilt of my mace. I can feel the weight of it in my hand, the smooth metal pressing against my palm. It's a comfort, a reminder that we have a way to defend ourselves if things go wrong.
