As Varrika raises her mace, the chamber lurches violently, throwing her off balance. The mirror's surface ripples wildly, distorting Merrin's reflection into a grotesque parody of herself. The figure in the Shimmering Light takes a step closer, its eyes blazing with an otherworldly energy. The ground beneath them gives way, and they plummet down a hidden shaft, the darkness closing in around them like a physical force. They fall in silence, their only sound the rush of wind and the distant echo of The Voice's laughter. As they descend, the air grows colder, and the pressure builds, threatening to crush them. The Voice's laughter grows louder, its words echoing in their minds: "Your greatest fear... will be your downfall."

I feel a scream rising in my throat as the chamber lurches violently, throwing me off balance. My mace slips from my grasp, clattering down into the darkness below. I scrabble for purchase on the smooth walls of the shaft, but it's no use - there's nothing to hold onto.

"Varrika!" I yell, my voice echoing in the darkness. "Grab onto me!"

I reach out with my free hand, trying to find her in the darkness. But the air is thick and heavy, pressing down on us like a physical force. I can't see anything, can't feel anything but the cold, smooth walls of the shaft around me.

As we fall, I can hear the distant echo of The Voice's laughter, its words ringing in my ears: "Your greatest fear... will be your downfall." I shudder at the thought, my mind racing with images of what might await us at the bottom of this pit.

"Varrika!" I yell again, my voice growing hoarse from screaming. "Where are you?"

But there's no response, only the rush of wind and the distant echo of The Voice's laughter. I try to focus on the sound of her voice, trying to gauge how far away she is. But it's impossible to tell in the darkness, and the more we fall, the further apart we seem to drift.

I try to remember the layout of the chamber above, searching my memory for any clue as to where this shaft might lead. But it's no use - in the chaos of the collapse, everything is a blur. All I can do is pray that Varrika is somewhere nearby, and that we'll be able to find each other when we reach the bottom.

And so I fall, my heart pounding in my chest and my mind racing with fear. Whatever lies ahead, whatever horrors await us at the end of this journey - I know that I can't face them alone. I need Varrika, now more than ever. And as the darkness closes in around me, I send up a silent prayer to whatever gods might be listening, begging for the strength and courage to see us through to the end.

Varrika · Fighter

I feel my stomach lurch as we fall, the darkness pressing in around us like a suffocating shroud. I try to reach out for Merrin, to grab onto her hand or her arm, but it's no use - she's too far away, lost in the void.

"Merrin!" I yell, my voice echoing in the emptiness. "Merrin, where are you?!"

But there's no response, only the rush of wind and the distant echo of The Voice's laughter. I try to focus on her voice, trying to gauge how far away she is. But it's impossible to tell in the darkness, and the more we fall, the further apart we seem to drift.

I feel a sense of panic rising in my chest, my heart pounding against my ribs like a caged animal. I try to remember the layout of the chamber above, searching my memory for any clue as to where this shaft might lead. But it's no use - in the chaos of the collapse, everything is a blur. All I can do is pray that Merrin is somewhere nearby, and that we'll be able to find each other when we reach the bottom.

And so I fall, my arms flailing uselessly at the darkness around me. I try to call out again, but my voice is hoarse from screaming, my throat raw and burning. I can feel tears streaming down my face, mingling with the sweat and grime that covers my skin.

As we descend deeper into the pit, I can feel the air growing colder, the pressure building around us like a vice. I try to take a deep breath, but it's like inhaling shards of ice, the cold searing my lungs and making me gasp for air.

I try to focus on the sound of Merrin's voice, trying to gauge how far away she is. But it's impossible to tell in the darkness, and the more we fall, the further apart we seem to drift. I can feel a sense of hopelessness settling over me like a shroud, and I know that whatever lies ahead - it's going to be bad.

But even as I feel the panic rising in my chest, I try to push it down. I take a deep breath, steadying myself as best I can. I know that we can't give up, not now. Not when we've come this far.

"Merrin!" I call out again, my voice barely more than a whisper. "We have to keep fighting! We have to find each other!"

And with that, I close my eyes, bracing myself for whatever may come. Whatever horrors await us at the bottom of this pit, whatever challenges The Voice may throw our way - we'll face them together. Just like always.

I take a deep breath, steadying myself as best I can. I know that we can't give up, not now. Not when we've come this far.
