Round 224 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in Narrow ledge overlooking a pitfall in the Underground Chamber of Pedestals tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
Merrin: I crouch low, pressing myself against the rough stone wall of the ledge as the ground shifts beneath my feet. My crossbow is at the ready, trained on the Figure in Shimmering Light ahead. I can feel the tension in the air, the weight of unseen threats lurking just out of sight.
I glance over at Varrika, her face a mask of concentration as she tries to keep her footing on the unstable ledge. We're outnumbered and outmatched, but I know that together, we've got a chance. It's a slim one, but it's all we've got.
I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves as I feel the ledge shift beneath my feet once more. The mirror shards are casting their mesmerizing display of light and shadow around us, making it hard to focus on anything else. But I know that we need to keep moving forward if we want to survive this place.
I step towards Varrika, my voice low and urgent. "We need to keep moving," I whisper. "This ledge isn't going to hold forever. And whatever's in that pool, I don't think it's something we want to stick around to find out."
I glance back at the Figure in Shimmering Light, its eyes still fixed on us with an unblinking intensity. I know that we're going to have to deal with it eventually, but right now, our main priority is getting out of this room alive.
I take another step forward, my crossbow trained on the Figure as I scan the chamber for any signs of an exit. "Stay close," I mutter to Varrika. "And whatever you do, don't let that Figure in Shimmering Light get too close. I have a feeling it's not here to help us."
I know we're in for the fight of our lives, but I also know that together, Varrika and I can face whatever horrors this place may hold. And so, with a deep breath and a steadying grip on my crossbow, I step forward onto the shifting ledge, ready to fight for our lives.
I grit my teeth, my grip on my mace tightening as I feel the ledge shift beneath my feet once more. Merrin's right - we need to keep moving if we want to survive this place.
I take a cautious step forward, my eyes fixed on the Figure in Shimmering Light ahead. It's still watching us, its gaze burning into mine with an intensity that makes my skin crawl. I know that we're going to have to deal with it eventually, but right now, our main priority is getting out of this room alive.
I glance over at Merrin, her face a mask of concentration as she tries to keep her footing on the unstable ledge. We've been through worse than this before, but something about this place feels different. More dangerous, somehow.
I take another step forward, my mace at the ready as I scan the chamber for any signs of an exit. "Stay close," I mutter to Merrin, my voice barely audible over the otherworldly sounds filling the chamber. "And whatever you do, don't let that Figure in Shimmering Light get too close. I have a feeling it's not here to help us."
I know we're outmatched by whatever force is at work here, but I also know that together, Merrin and I can face whatever horrors this place may hold. And so, with a deep breath and a steadying grip on my mace, I step forward onto the shifting ledge, ready to fight for our lives.
