As I bring my mace down on the stone wall, the heavy metal head shatters against the ancient runes, releasing a burst of magical energy. The air around us crackles with power, and I feel a sudden surge of strength flow through me. I take advantage of the momentum, dashing forward into the passageway beyond. The passage narrows further, forcing us to move in single file. I lead the way, my mace at the ready, as we navigate the treacherous terrain. Suddenly, a section of the wall collapses behind us, sending rocks and debris crashing down. I hear the sound of scuttling creatures echoing from the darkness ahead, their beady eyes glowing in the faint light. "We need to keep moving!" I shout to Varrika, my voice barely audible over the din of the falling rocks. "The passage is collapsing behind us! We have to find a way out before it's too late!"

I glance back at Varrika, my eyes locked on hers. "Which way do you want to go?" I ask, my hand on the hilt of my mace, ready for whatever lies ahead.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

"Well, I think we're stuck between a rock and a hard place now," Merrin mutters, her eyes darting between the crumbling passage behind them and the unknown ahead. "But I say we keep moving forward. We can't go back the way we came, so..."

She takes a deep breath, steeling herself as she glances at Varrika. "Lead on, warrior. You've got the strength to clear a path if anything gets in our way. Just keep your eyes peeled for traps and try not to knock us into any more walls, yeah?"

Merrin's voice is strained, but there's a hint of her usual bravado in it. She keeps her crossbow at the ready, scanning the shadows for any sign of movement as they press deeper into the collapsing passageway. "As for me," she continues, "I'll keep an eye out for anything that looks important. Maybe those runes were trying to tell us something after all."

She risks a glance back over her shoulder, her eyes wide with fear at the sound of more falling rocks. "But right now, our best bet is to find a way out before this whole damn place comes down on top of us!"

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

Aye, Merrin. Let's keep moving forward. We can't go back, and I don't fancy our chances of waiting this out either.
