Round 180 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varrika's warning to Merrin has come too late. The ground beneath her gives a slight tremor as the massive stone golem emerges from the water, its eyes burning with an otherworldly rage. The golem's gaze falls upon Merrin, and it raises a massive hand, ready to strike. Merrin's crossbow bolt flies towards the golem's hand, but it's too fast, dodging the attack with ease. The golem swings its arm down, striking Varrika with incredible force. She stumbles backwards, her mace flying from her grasp as she falls into the pool. The water closes over her head, and she struggles to stay afloat amidst the churning waters.
I struggle to stay afloat, the churning waters threatening to drag me under. I can see Merrin battling the golem, her crossbow firing bolt after bolt into its stone flesh. But even as she fights, I know that we are outmatched. The golem is too powerful, its magic too strong for us to overcome.
I reach out with my arm, trying to grab hold of something, anything, to pull myself out of the water. My hand brushes against my mace, and I grasp it tightly, using it as a makeshift float to keep my head above the surface.
I look around, trying to find some way to escape this nightmare. The pool seems to stretch on forever, its waters churning and foaming with an otherworldly energy. And then, I see it - a ledge, just visible through the haze of the water.
With a burst of strength, I swim towards the ledge, my arms slicing through the water as I struggle to reach it. Merrin sees me and swims towards me, her crossbow still firing at the golem as she tries to create an opening for us to escape.
I reach the ledge and pull myself out of the water, my body aching from the effort. Merrin is right behind me, and together we collapse onto the stone, gasping for air.
But even as we catch our breath, I know that we are not safe yet. The golem is still out there, its magic pressing down on us like a suffocating weight. And I have a feeling that whatever comes next will be just as dangerous as what we've already faced.
I struggle to my feet, my breath coming in ragged gasps as I try to catch my bearings. The golem is still out there, its magic pressing down on us like a suffocating weight. But even as I fight to stay on my feet, I can see that Varrika is in trouble. She's struggling to pull herself onto the ledge, her strength clearly waning. "Varrika!" I shout, rushing to her side. "Here, let me help you!"
I reach out and grab her arm, pulling with all my might as she claws her way up onto the ledge. We collapse onto the stone, our chests heaving as we struggle to catch our breath. But even as we rest, I know that we can't stay here for long. The golem is still out there, and it won't be long before it finds us again. "Varrika," I say, my voice low and urgent. "We need to keep moving. We can't stay here."
She nods, her eyes filled with fear but also determination. "You're right," she says, pushing herself to her feet. "We have to find a way out of here."
I stand up as well, my hand reaching for my crossbow. I know that we are in for the fight of our lives, but I also know that we have no choice. This is our only chance to survive, to escape this nightmare realm and find our way back to the world above. "Alright," I say, my voice steady despite the fear that courses through my veins. "Let's move. And stay alert - I have a feeling that whatever comes next will be just as dangerous as what we've already faced."
And with that, I turn and start to make my way deeper into the chamber, my crossbow at the ready and my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of danger.
