The chamber's collapse began as a groan, stone complaining under impossible stress. Merrin dove through the pool's surface cleanly, water parting around her small form like she weighed nothing at all. The magical energies within the liquid surged outward in a visible wave, crackling with blue-white light that illuminated the chamber’s rapidly collapsing walls from within. Varrika stood frozen on the edge of the platform, her scarred features twisted into an expression of pure terror. "Merrin!" she screamed, her voice barely carrying over the groaning of stressed stone. "What in the seven hells are you doing?!" The dwarf warrior’s hands gripped her mace so tightly that her knuckles turned white, every muscle in her stocky frame tensed and ready to spring into action—though exactly what kind of action might prove useful against a collapsing dimension remained unclear. She watched helplessly as Merrin disappeared beneath the churning waters, leaving only ripples spreading outward from where she had entered. The magical energies of the pool pulsed with an ominous rhythm, their swirling patterns casting shifting patterns of light and shadow across the crumbling walls.

The Voice spoke again, its tone dripping with malevolent intent. "Ah, Varrika, how... delightful. You've joined your friend in the pool. Now, you'll both make a fine addition to my collection." The ground beneath Varrika gave a slight tremor, and she felt the magic of the pool surging around her, its energy pulsing and swirling like a living thing. Suddenly, the water's surface erupted, and a massive stone golem emerged from the depths, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly rage.

Merrin’s heart leapt into her throat as she heard The Voice’s sinister words echo through the chamber. She could feel the magic of the pool surging around her, its energy pulsing and swirling like a living thing. But beneath that, she could sense something else, something darker and more sinister lurking just beneath the surface. She turned to Varrika, her eyes wide with alarm. "Varrika, look out!" she shouted, pointing at the massive stone golem that emerged from the pool’s churning depths.

The dwarf warrior gripped her mace tightly as she saw the golem emerge from the water, its eyes burning with an otherworldly rage. Her heart raced in her chest as she realized the gravity of their situation— they were outmatched and outnumbered, and the only way out was to fight their way through. She turned to Merrin, seeing the determination in her eyes even as she trembled beneath the weight of the moment. "Merrin, stay close," she called out, her voice steady despite the fear that coursed through her veins. "We fight together."
