Round 141 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The ground beneath the platform gives a loud creak, and the air is filled with the sound of shifting stone. The twisted reflection before them takes another step forward, its eyes blazing with an unnatural hunger. The Book's power pulses through the air around them, casting an eerie glow on everything it touches. The narrow platform they're standing on begins to sway ominously, threatening to collapse beneath their feet at any moment.
I cling to Varrika's hand, my heart pounding as the platform beneath our feet shifts ominously. The twisted reflection looms closer, its burning gaze fixed on us, and I can feel the Book's power pulsing through my veins like a feverish heartbeat. "Varikka, we need to move now!" I hiss urgently, even as confusion swirls in my mind from the disorienting visions. "This whole thing is about to collapse!"
I try to drag Varikka towards the edge of the platform, scanning desperately for some way down. The walls seem to warp and flow like liquid shadow, offering no foothold or ledge. I can feel a rising sense of panic as the ground groans and tilts, but I force myself to think. The Book's power surges through me, wild and untamed. It's our only chance, I realize. I focus my will on the arcane energy, trying to shape it into a protective shield around us, at least until we can escape this crumbling nightmare. "Varikka!" I call out, my voice raw with urgency. "Trust me! We have to leap off together and let the Book's power carry us!"
I take a deep breath, steeling myself as the platform lurches beneath our feet. Varikka's hand clutches mine tightly, their eyes meeting mine with a silent acknowledgment of the risk we're about to take. "Now!" I shout, and with a final desperate surge, I hurl us both off the collapsing platform, into the swirling shadows below, praying that the Book's magic will be enough to save us from whatever waits in the darkness.
I feel a surge of alarm as the platform beneath our feet shifts ominously, the ground groaning and tilting. The twisted reflection looms closer, its burning gaze fixed on us, and I can feel the Book's power pulsing through my veins like a feverish heartbeat.
Merrin's hand clutches mine tightly, their voice raw with urgency as they call out to me. "Varikka! Trust me! We have to leap off together and let the Book's power carry us!"
I meet Merrin's eyes, seeing the desperate determination in them. The platform lurches again, and I know we're running out of time. With a final nod, I grip Merrin's hand tighter and take a deep breath.
"On three," I grunt, my heart pounding in my chest. "One...two..."
As the platform collapses beneath our feet, I hurl us both off into the swirling shadows below, clinging to Merrin with all my strength and praying to whatever gods might be listening that this wild, desperate leap will not be our undoing.
We plummet through the darkness, the Book's power surging around us like a protective cocoon. But even as we fall, I can feel its hunger growing, threatening to consume us both in its insatiable need. We need to find solid ground soon, or else we may be lost to the very magic we sought to control.
I cling tighter to Merrin's hand, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of an escape route as we hurtle through the abyss. Whatever awaits us in this twisted dimension, I know that Varikka and I will face it together.
