The ground beneath them gives another ominous tremor, and rocks and debris continue to fall down towards the chasm. Merrin's grip on the book tightens as Varrika pulls them closer. The book's pages glow brighter with an otherworldly energy, its power coursing through their veins like liquid fire. Varrika's voice is strained with urgency as she shouts, "Merrin, we have to let go of the book!" But Merrin's hand remains firmly wrapped around it, holding on for dear life. The air is thick with dust, and the sound of falling debris grows louder, making it harder for them to hear each other.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I pull Merrin close, my arms tightening around their waist as we plummet towards the chasm. "The book's power is too strong!" I shout over the howling wind, my voice strained with urgency. "We can't hold onto it!"

But even as I say the words, I know that letting go of the book might be our only chance at survival. The energy pulsing through Merrin's veins grows stronger with each passing second, and I can feel the weight of the book pulling us both towards the edge of the chasm.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I cling tightly to the book, the energy pulsing through my veins like liquid fire. "Varrika, I know it's dangerous," I shout over the howling wind, my voice strained with both fear and determination. "But this book... it's the key to everything. We can't let it fall into the chasm!"

I can feel the book's power growing stronger with each passing second, as if it's trying to take control of me. "We have to find a way to use this energy," I continue, my words coming out in short, breathless gasps. "If we can harness it, maybe we can survive this fall."

But even as I say the words, I know that Varrika is right. The book's power is too strong, and if we don't let go of it soon, we'll both be doomed. But what choice do we have? We're falling towards the chasm, and the only thing keeping us alive is the energy coursing through my veins.

I look down at the book in my hands, the pages glowing with an otherworldly light. "Varrika," I shout, my voice barely audible over the howling wind, "I need you to trust me. We have to try something, or we're all going to die here."

I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what I'm about to do. With a sudden burst of strength, I raise the book above my head, the energy pulsing through my veins like a live wire. "Hold on!" I scream, my voice filled with both fear and determination.

And then, with a final surge of power, I let go of the book, watching as it soars through the air towards the chasm below. For a moment, I feel a sense of weightlessness, as if the energy has been lifted from my body. And then, just as quickly, I feel Varrika's arms tighten around me, pulling me close as we plummet towards the ground.
