Round 129 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's grip on the book tightens as Varrika pulls them across the ledge, her eyes fixed on the book in their hands. The ground beneath them gives another ominous tremor, and rocks and debris continue to fall down towards the chasm. The air is thick with dust, and the sound of falling debris grows louder. Varrika's face is set in a determined expression, her voice low and urgent as she pulls Merrin closer. "We can't afford to lose any more time," she says. "The ledge is giving way!" Merrin's eyes are fixed on the book, their face set in a resolute expression. The book's pages glow with an otherworldly light, and Merrin's hand seems to be drawn to it as if by an unseen force. Suddenly, a loud crack echoes through the air, and rocks and debris tumble down towards the chasm. Varrika's eyes widen in alarm, and she pulls Merrin closer, her voice strained over the sound of falling debris. "Merrin, we have to move now!"
I cling to Varrika as we stumble across the crumbling ledge, my fingers white-knuckled around the book in my hands. The ground shifts ominously beneath our feet, and rocks and debris tumble down into the chasm.
Varrika's right - we need to keep moving. But I can't let go of this book. It might be the key to everything. I glance at Varrika, my eyes narrowing. "I'm not letting go," I say firmly, my voice tight with urgency. "This book is our only chance."
With that, I start to make my way across the ledge, my hand outstretched towards Varikka as I pray that she'll follow me into the unknown.
The book pulses in my hands, its pages glowing with an otherworldly light. I can feel the weight of it, the power it contains. It's as if it's alive, drawing me closer to it with each step.
But I know we can't stay here. The ledge is crumbling beneath our feet, and the chasm yawns below us, ready to swallow us whole. I have to trust Varrika to get us out of here alive.
I take another step forward, my hand still outstretched towards Varrika. "Come on," I say, my voice strained over the sound of falling debris. "We have to keep moving!"
I keep my grip on Merrin's arm as we stumble across the crumbling ledge, my eyes fixed on the book in their hands. "I understand the book might be important," I grunt, my voice strained over the sound of falling debris. "But we can't afford to get trapped by it. We need to keep moving!"
With a sudden movement, I grab Merrin's arm and pull them away from the ledge's edge, the ground shifting ominously beneath our feet. "The ledge is giving way," I shout, my voice urgent. "We have to find another way out of here. Now!"
As we make our way across the ledge, I can feel the book pulsing with an otherworldly energy in Merrin's hands, its pages glowing with a light that seems to grow brighter with each passing second. "Whatever that book is," I say, my voice tight with concern, "it's drawing power from somewhere. And if it collapses this ledge, we're all doomed."
