As Varrika and Merrin continue to make their way across the ledge, the ground beneath them gives a final, ominous tremor. A section of the ledge collapses behind them, sending rocks and debris tumbling down towards the chasm. Varrika quickly pulls Merrin closer, and they both stumble back, their eyes fixed on the rapidly expanding gap between the ledge and the chasm. The book in Merrin's hands pulses with an otherworldly energy, its pages glowing with a light that seems to grow brighter with each passing second. The air is thick with dust, and the sound of falling debris grows louder. Varrika's voice is low and urgent as she shouts, "We need to move now! We can't afford to lose any more time!" She glances at Merrin, her eyes narrowing in frustration. "You're not going to let go of that book, are you? We're in this together, for better or worse."

Merrin's grip on the book tightens, her face set in a determined expression. "I'm not letting go," she says firmly, her eyes locked on Varrika's.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

Merrin: I cling tightly to Varrika as we stumble back from the ledge, the ground shifting ominously beneath our feet. The book in my hands pulses with an otherworldly energy, its pages glowing with a light that seems to grow brighter with each passing second.

Varrika's face is set in a determined expression as she pulls me closer, her eyes narrowing in frustration. "Don't you dare let go of that book," she growls, her voice low and urgent. "We're in this together, for better or worse."

I nod, my grip on the book tightening even further. "I'm not letting go," I say firmly, my eyes locked on Varrika's. "This book is our only chance to unlock the secrets of the Time-Splitting Sword. It might be the key to our survival."

The air is thick with dust, and the sound of falling debris grows louder as we continue to make our way across the ledge. But still, some small part of me wonders if this is all a fool's errand anyway.

I shake my head, trying to clear the thoughts from my mind. "We need to move now," I say, my voice urgent and filled with a desperate energy. "The ledge is unstable, and I can hear more debris falling behind us."

With that, I start to make my way across the ledge, my hand outstretched towards Varrika as I pray that she'll follow me into the unknown. "Come on," I say, my voice softening slightly. "We've come this far. We might as well see it through."

Varrika · Fighter

I nod grimly at Merrin's words, my hand tightening on her arm as I pull her closer. "Alright then," I say, my voice low and urgent. "But we can't afford to let this book slow us down. We need to keep moving."

As we continue to make our way across the ledge, I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet, the ominous groaning of the tower growing louder with each passing second. But still, some small part of me wonders if this is all a fool's errand anyway.

The book in Merrin's hands pulses with an otherworldly energy, its pages glowing with a light that seems to grow brighter with each passing second. But for now, it's just a distraction from the growing danger ahead.

Suddenly, I hear a loud crack behind us, and I spin around to see a section of the ledge collapsing, sending rocks and debris tumbling down towards the chasm. "Move!" I shout, pushing Merrin forward as I try to shield her from the falling debris.
