Round 126 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varrika and Merrin continue to make their way across the ledge, the ground beneath their feet gives a slight tremor, and Varrika's eyes widen in alarm. "Merrin, are you sure you're not going to let go of that book?" she asks, her voice laced with frustration. Suddenly, a section of the ledge behind them begins to crumble, sending rocks and debris tumbling down towards the chasm. The group's precarious situation just got a lot more precarious. Varrika quickly pulls Merrin closer, and they both stumble back, their eyes fixed on the rapidly expanding gap between the ledge and the chasm. "We need to move, now!" Varrika exclaims, her voice low and urgent. "We can't afford to lose any more time."
The book in Merrin's hands seems to pulse with an otherworldly energy, its pages glowing with a light that seems to grow brighter with each passing second. But for now, it's just a distraction from the growing danger ahead.
I grip the book tighter to my chest as Varrika's eyes narrow in frustration. I know she wants me to hand it over, but something deep inside me is screaming that this book is important, that it might be our only chance at survival.
"I'm not letting go of it," I say firmly, my eyes locked on Varrika's. "It's the only thing that might give us a chance to unlock the secrets of the Time-Splitting Sword."
As Varrika's face twists in frustration, I can feel the ground shifting beneath my feet, the ominous groaning of the tower growing louder with each passing second. But still, some small part of me wonders if this is all a fool's errand anyway.
I shake my head, trying to clear the thoughts from my mind. "We need to move," I say, my voice urgent and filled with a desperate energy. "The ledge is unstable, and I can hear more debris falling behind us."
With that, I start to make my way across the ledge, my hand outstretched towards Varrika as I pray that she'll follow me into the unknown. "Come on," I say, my voice softening slightly. "We've come this far. We might as well see it through."
