Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The tension in Ruined courtyard beyond the tower's reflection tightens for a beat as the interruption refuses to go away. Everyone is forced to stay quiet and choose their next move carefully.
I clutched the book tighter to my chest, feeling the weight of it in my hands as the ground continued to shake around us. I knew Varrika was right, that we couldn't risk our lives for this tome, no matter how powerful it might be. But still, some part of me hesitated, some instinct telling me that this book was important, that it held secrets that could save us... or doom us.
I took a step back from Varrika, my eyes darting around the ruined courtyard as I tried to make sense of our situation. "I know we can't just run blindly," I said, my voice shaking with a cocktail of fear and determination. "But what choice do we have? The tower's coming down around us, and who knows what other dangers might be lurking out there."
I gestured to the book in my hands, its pages fluttering and shifting as if they were alive. "This thing... it's got power, Varrika. I can feel it. And I think we need that power if we're going to survive this place."
I took another step back, my hand tightening around the book as I felt a sudden surge of protectiveness towards it. "I'm sorry," I said, my voice softening. "But I can't give it up. Not yet. Not until I understand what it is, and what it means for us."
The ground shook again, more violently this time, and I could hear the ominous groaning of the tower as it collapsed in on itself. I knew we didn't have much time, but still, I couldn't shake the feeling that this book was important, that it held the key to our survival... and our downfall.
I can see the fear and uncertainty in Merrin's eyes, but I also see the stubborn set of her jaw, the way she clutches the book to her chest like it's a lifeline. "Merrin, please," I say, my voice softening as I take a step towards her. "I know you think that book is important, but we can't risk our lives for it. Not here, not now."
The ground shakes again, more violently this time, and I can hear the ominous groaning of the tower as it collapses in on itself. I know we don't have much time, but still, I try to keep my voice calm and steady. "Give me the book," I say, my hand outstretched. "We'll find a way to understand it, I promise. But we need to survive first."
I can see the hesitation in Merrin's eyes, the way she glances down at the book before back up at me. "Please," I say, my voice softening even further. "Trust me. We need to work together if we're going to get out of here alive."
I take another step towards Merrin, my hand still outstretched. "The tower's coming down around us," I say, my voice urgent and filled with concern. "We need to find a way out, and fast. And that means trusting each other with our lives."

I know we don't have much time, but still, I try to keep my voice calm and steady. "Merrin," I say, my voice firm and commanding. "Give me the book. Let's figure this out together."
