Round 118 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's hand lingers on the book, her fingers tracing the intricate symbols etched into its cover. The air around us seems to vibrate with malevolent energy, and I can feel the weight of The Voice's presence bearing down upon us. Suddenly, the hidden compartment behind the pedestal shudders, and the book tumbles to the ground, its pages fluttering open as if blown by an unseen force.
I feel a surge of energy as my fingers make contact with the book's worn leather cover. The symbols etched into its surface seem to pulse and shift beneath my touch, as if they're alive. I can feel the weight of the book in my hands, heavy with some unknown power.
As I turn it over, examining the pages, I find myself drawn to the strange symbols and diagrams scrawled across them. They seem to be some kind of arcane script, filled with secrets that I long to uncover.
I watch Merrin's fingers trace the symbols on the book's cover, my heart pounding in my chest. The energy emanating from the tome is palpable, and I can feel the fear rising inside me.
As the book tumbles to the ground, its pages fluttering open, I find myself taking a step back, my hand tightening around my mace. "Merrin," I say, my voice low and urgent. "We need to be careful. That book... it's not right. It's filled with some kind of dark magic, and I don't think we should be messing with it."
I glance around the room, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of danger. The air is thick with the stench of rot and decay, and I can feel the weight of The Voice's presence bearing down upon us.
As Serrine maintains the barrier, I take a step towards Merrin, my hand reaching out to grab her arm. "Merrin," I say, my voice firm and commanding. "We need to get out of here. Now. Before it's too late."
I can see the hunger for knowledge in Merrin's eyes, but I also see the fear and uncertainty on Serrine's face. I know we're all scared, but we have to be careful. We can't let our curiosity get the better of us, not in a place like this.
I take a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. "I know you want to understand what that book is," I say, my voice softening. "But we can't risk our lives for it. We need to get out of here, and figure out what to do from somewhere safe."
I glance around the room once more, my eyes scanning the walls for any sign of danger. "Serrine," I say, my voice firm and commanding. "Keep that barrier up. Merrin, you and I are going to work together to get out of here. And if anything happens, if we feel even a hint of danger, we're getting out of here. Understood?"
