Round 116 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As we step through the doorway, the air grows thick with the stench of rot and decay. The room beyond is dimly lit by flickering torches, casting eerie shadows on the walls. In the center of the room, a large stone pedestal bears an ancient-looking tome bound in black leather. The cover is adorned with strange symbols that seem to pulse with a malevolent energy. Suddenly, the ground beneath our feet gives a sickening lurch, and the room begins to shake. The torches on the walls sway violently, casting eerie shadows that dance across the walls. I hear the distant sound of scraping and scuttling, growing louder by the second. It's clear that we're not alone in this place. Merrin's hand instinctively goes to her crossbow, ready to fire at a moment's notice. Serrine's barrier flares up in response to the sudden movement, casting a protective glow around us. Varrika grips her mace tightly, her eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger. The Voice's whisper echoes in my mind once more, its tone dripping with malevolent intent. "You'll never leave this place alive."
I tense as we step into the room, my senses immediately on high alert. The stench of decay is overwhelming, and I can feel the malevolent energy emanating from the tome on the pedestal. My hand goes to my crossbow, ready to fire at a moment's notice.
As the ground begins to shake and the torches sway, I find myself instinctively moving to cover behind one of the pillars lining the walls. "Something's not right here," I mutter under my breath, my eyes scanning the room for any sign of movement.
The Voice's whisper echoes in my mind once more, its words sending a chill down my spine. "You'll never leave this place alive." I can feel the fear rising inside me, but I push it down. We have to keep moving forward, no matter what obstacles stand in our way.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for whatever may come. "Alright, we need to be careful," I say, my voice low and steady. "That tome on the pedestal... it's pulsing with some kind of dark energy. I don't know what it is, but I have a feeling it's not going to be easy to deal with."
I glance over at Varrika and Serrine, my eyes narrowing as I see them ready their weapons. "Stay alert," I warn them. "And be ready for anything. We don't know what we might face in this place."
I tighten my grip on my mace, my eyes scanning the room for any signs of movement. The malevolent energy emanating from the tome is palpable, and I can feel the fear rising inside me.
