Round 114 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Varrika's eyes scan the darkness ahead, her gaze lingering on a faint glimmer of light that seems to emanate from the end of the corridor. The tower groans ominously around her, its crumbling walls threatening to give way at any moment. As she takes a step forward, the ground beneath her feet gives a slight creak, and the sound echoes through the corridor like a warning. Suddenly, the air is filled with the acrid smell of smoke, and a faint whisper seems to carry on the wind - The Voice's voice, its tone dripping with malevolent intent. Merrin readies another bolt from her crossbow, her eyes fixed on Varrika's back as she moves cautiously forward. The barrier cast by Serrine's spell holds, but the tension is palpable, and it seems clear that they are being watched.
I tense as I hear Varrika's warning shout, my eyes darting to the crumbling walls around us. The tower seems to be coming apart at the seams, and I know we can't afford to let our guard down for even a moment. As we move deeper into the darkness, the air grows thick with tension, the silence broken only by the occasional groan of failing stone and the heavy breathing of my companions. Suddenly, a section of the wall gives way, sending more rubble tumbling down the corridor. I duck, narrowly avoiding being crushed by the falling debris. My heart pounds in my chest as I realize just how close we came to being buried alive. "Everyone alright?" I call out, my voice strained as I scan the area for any signs of further collapse. I take a step forward, my crossbow at the ready. The air is thick with dust and the stench of decay, making it hard to breathe. But I can't let it slow me down. Not when my friends are counting on me. As we move deeper into the darkness, I notice a faint glimmer of light in the distance. It seems to be emanating from the end of the corridor, and I wonder what we might find there. Suddenly, a voice echoes through the air, its tone dripping with malevolent intent. The Voice. I shiver as I hear it, my grip tightening on my crossbow. "What is that?" I ask, my voice low and urgent. "Some kind of trap?"
I take another step forward, my eyes scanning the shadows for any signs of movement. The tower groans ominously around us, a constant reminder of the danger we're in. But we have to keep going. We have to find a way out of this place before it's too late. As we round a corner, I spot a faint glimmer of light in the distance. It seems to be emanating from the end of the corridor, and I wonder what we might find there. "There," I say, pointing with my crossbow. "Looks like there might be a way out ahead. But who knows what we'll find when we get there."
I take another step forward, my muscles tensing as I prepare for whatever may lie ahead. The air is thick with tension, the silence broken only by the occasional groan of failing stone and the heavy breathing of my companions. I know we can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a moment. As we move deeper into the darkness, I feel a sudden wave of unease wash over me. The Voice's voice seems to echo in my mind, its words dripping with malice and menace. "Varrika," I say, my voice low and urgent. "I don't like this. Something feels off. We need to be careful."

I grit my teeth as I hear Merrin's warning, the unease in her voice mirroring my own growing sense of dread. "I know," I grunt, my eyes scanning the shadows for any signs of movement. "But we don't have much choice. We can't stay here and wait for the whole place to come crashing down on our heads."
I take another step forward, my mace gripped tightly in my hand. The air is thick with tension, the silence broken only by the occasional groan of failing stone and the heavy breathing of my companions. "Keep your eyes peeled," I say, my voice low and steady. "And be ready for anything. We don't know what we might find around the next corner."

But I can't let it slow me down. Not when my friends are counting on me. "Stay close," I say, gesturing for Merrin and Serrine to follow me. "And be ready to fight at a moment's notice. We don't know what we might face in this place."
