Round 112 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

Merrin's crossbow bolt whizzes past the creature's ear, striking the wall behind it with a loud thud. The twisted abomination stumbles, momentarily off balance. Varrika seizes the opportunity, charging forward with her mace. The creature attempts to defend itself but Varrika's attack is relentless. Serrine readies a spell, her eyes fixed on the stairs leading down into darkness.
I quickly reload my crossbow, keeping my eyes trained on the creature as Varrika grapples with it. The dwarf's strength is impressive, but I know we can't rely on brute force alone. "Serrine," I call out, my voice steady despite the chaos around us, "we need to secure those stairs. Can you cast some kind of barrier spell to keep anything else from coming up while we deal with this thing?"
My mind races as I watch the fight unfold, trying to formulate a plan. The creature's unnatural form suggests dark magic, and I have a feeling our weapons may not be enough to stop it for good. "Varrika," I say, taking aim at the creature's head, "I'm going to try to take out its eyes. See if that slows it down."
With that, I fire another bolt, my aim true as it pierces the creature's left eye with a sickening squelch. The abomination lets out an ear-splitting shriek, momentarily disoriented by the sudden loss of vision. Varrika seizes the opportunity, bringing her mace down on the creature's head with a sickening crunch. I reload again, my fingers moving with practiced ease as I watch for an opening. The tower groans ominously around us, reminding me of the ever-present danger we face. "We need to move," I say, my voice urgent. "This whole place could come down on our heads at any moment."
I see Merrin's crossbow bolt find its mark, the creature's shriek echoing through the crumbling corridor. I press my advantage, bringing my mace down on the abomination's head with all my strength. The sickening crunch of bone and flesh fills my ears, but I don't let up. "Serrine!" I call out over the din, my voice strained as I struggle to keep the creature at bay. "We need that barrier spell now! Merrin, keep those bolts coming!"
As the creature staggers back, momentarily disoriented by its lost eye, I take a step forward, ready to strike again. My muscles ache from the effort, but I push through the pain. We can't afford to hesitate, not with the entire tower threatening to come down around us. The air is thick with dust and the stench of decay, making it hard to breathe. I cough, my lungs burning as I try to suck in precious oxygen. But I can't let it slow me down. Not when my friends are counting on me. "Merrin," I grunt, my teeth bared as I prepare for another swing, "once this thing is down, we need to move. That spell needs to be cast now."
