Round 109 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varrika continues to clear the rubble, a loud creak echoes through the corridor, and a section of the wall gives way beneath her feet. She stumbles, but manages to catch herself just in time, her mace slipping from her grasp. The tool clatters to the ground, its metal head spinning wildly before coming to rest against the stone floor. Merrin and Serrine rush to Varrika's side, helping her to her feet as the dwarf brushes off her clothes. "We need to keep moving," Merrin says, her eyes scanning the corridor ahead. "The tower is collapsing faster by the minute."
Varrika nods, her face set in determination. "I've got an idea," she says, glancing around at her companions. "We can use the map of the Tower's Ground Floor to find a way out. But we need to move fast - the walls are going to give way soon."
Serrine consults the map, her brow furrowed in concern. "I think I see a possible exit," she says, pointing to a doorway on the opposite side of the corridor. "But it's guarded by... something."
Merrin's eyes dart to the map, her mind racing as she tries to make sense of their predicament. "Alright, let's see what we're dealing with here," she says, leaning in closer to examine the parchment.
The map shows a labyrinthine network of corridors and chambers, each one more treacherous than the last. But as Merrin traces her finger along the route Serrine suggested, she sees a glimmer of hope. "This could work," she murmurs, pointing to a series of twists and turns that lead to what appears to be an exit. "But we need to be careful - the map says there's some kind of guardian at the end."
Merrin glances up at Varrika, her expression serious but determined. "I think I should go first," she says, her hand reaching for her lockpicks and crowbar. "If there are any traps or locked doors, I can handle them. And if we run into trouble, you two can cover me while I work."
She takes a deep breath, steeling herself for the challenges ahead. "But whatever happens, we stick together. No one gets left behind, got it?"
With that, Merrin turns and starts to make her way down the corridor, her eyes scanning the walls and floor for any signs of danger. The tower groans ominously around them, but the rogue refuses to let fear slow her down.
She will find a way out of this darkness, no matter the cost. And she will do it with her companions by her side, united in their quest to unravel the secrets of the crystal and save each other from the shadows that threaten to consume them.
Varrika nods in agreement with Merrin's plan, her hand tightening on the hilt of her mace. "Aye, that's a solid plan," she says, her voice grim but determined. "You take point, Merrin. Serrine and I will watch your back."
She glances around at the crumbling walls, the tower groaning ominously as more debris falls from above. "But we need to move fast," Varrika adds, her eyes fixed on the distant exit. "This whole damn place is coming down around our ears."
As Merrin starts to make her way down the corridor, Varrika follows close behind, her mace at the ready. The dwarf's heart pounds in her chest as she navigates the treacherous terrain, each step bringing them closer to whatever lies ahead.
But even as the walls crumble and the tower collapses around them, Varrika refuses to give in to fear. She will face whatever challenges may come, whatever dangers lurk in the shadows... as long as she has her mace in hand and her companions by her side.
Together, they will find a way out of this darkness, no matter the cost. And together, they will unravel the secrets of the crystal and save each other from the horrors that threaten to consume them.
