Round 108 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin and Serrine reach the tower's exit, they find that it has been sealed off by a thick layer of rubble. The air is thick with dust, and the walls are cracked and crumbling. Varrika stumbles forward, her mace at the ready, as she attempts to clear the debris. "Keep moving!" Varrika shouts, her voice hoarse from the exertion. "We need to find another way out!"
As they push through the rubble, Merrin trips on a loose stone, sending her tumbling to the ground. The impact is jarring, and Serrine rushes to her side, helping her to her feet. "Are you alright?" Serrine asks, concern etched on her face. Merrin brushes herself off, wincing in pain. "I'm fine," she says, her eyes scanning the rubble-strewn corridor ahead. "But we need to move. The tower is collapsing!"
The ground shudders beneath their feet, and a loud crash echoes through the corridor. Suddenly, a section of the wall gives way, sending a shower of rocks and debris crashing down around them. Varrika instinctively raises her mace to shield herself and Serrine, but Merrin is caught off guard. "Watch out!" Varrika shouts, as the falling rocks narrowly miss Merrin's head. The three adventurers are now forced to navigate this treacherous terrain, with the crumbling walls and collapsing structure threatening to trap them at every turn. They must decide how to proceed, and fast, before the tower implodes around them.
I wince as I pick myself up off the ground, my body aching from the fall. Varrika's quick thinking saved me from being crushed by the falling debris, but I know we're not out of danger yet. "We need to keep moving," I say, dusting myself off and checking my weapons. "The tower is coming down around us, and if we stay here, we'll be buried alive."
Serrine nods in agreement, her face etched with concern as she looks at me. "Are you sure you're alright, Merrin? That fall looked pretty hard."
"I'm fine," I insist, though the pain in my ribs tells a different story. "But we can't afford to stop now. Varrika, can you clear us a path through that rubble?"
The dwarf nods, her mace already swinging as she attacks the debris blocking our exit. Chunks of stone fly as she hacks at the pile, slowly clearing a path for us to squeeze through. I watch her work, my mind racing as I try to piece together what's happening. The crystal, the riddle, the whispers... it all seems so intertwined, like a complex web of secrets waiting to be unraveled. But with each passing moment, the tower collapses around us, and our chances of escape grow slimmer. "Whatever happens next," I mutter to myself, "we'll face it together. And we'll save each other too. That's a promise."
With that, I turn my attention back to the rubble, my hands reaching for the next loose stone. Together, we will find a way out of this darkness, no matter the cost.
Varrika grunts with effort as she swings her mace at the rubble blocking their path, chunks of stone flying with each impact. "Aye, this is going to take some time," she mutters, wiping sweat from her brow. "But we've got no choice. Keep those eyes peeled for any more falling debris!"
As she works to clear a path, Varrika's mind races with possibilities. The tower is collapsing around them, and their chances of escape grow slimmer by the moment. But even as the walls crumble, the dwarf refuses to give in to despair.
"Whatever lies ahead," she says, her voice strained but determined, "we'll face it together. And we'll save each other too. That's a promise."
With that, Varrika redoubles her efforts, her mace swinging with increasing ferocity as she attacks the debris. The tower groans ominously around them, but the dwarf refuses to let fear slow her down.
"We're getting out of here," she growls, her eyes fixed on the distant light of the exit. "And we'll do it together. That's a promise."
As Varrika works to clear a path through the rubble, Merrin and Serrine watch in awe at the dwarf's strength and determination. Together, they will find a way out of this darkness, no matter the cost.
