Round 103 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The stone before us begins to glow with an intense, pulsing light. Its energy envelops us, and I feel a surge of magic coursing through my veins. The air around us seems to thicken, as if reality itself is bending to The Voice's will. Suddenly, the stone's glow intensifies, and its surface etches out a message in fiery letters: " Binding = Breaking". The Voice's voice echoes in my mind, her words dripping with malevolence. "If you cannot solve my riddle, you will never leave this place. But if you succeed... you will find Varrika, and together you will face the darkness that lies within."
Merrin's eyes lock onto mine, a fierce determination burning within them. "We can do this," she says, her voice firm. "We just need to figure out what The Voice means by 'binding'."
The ground beneath our feet begins to shake, and the pit yawns open wider, revealing a treacherous chasm. A faint whispering fills the air, echoing off the walls of the pit: "Give up... give up...".
I study the glowing message etched on the stone's surface: "Binding = Breaking". My mind races as I try to puzzle out its meaning. "Binding... breaking..." I mutter under my breath. "What could that possibly mean?"
The ground beneath our feet trembles again, and I feel a surge of panic rising in my chest. We're running out of time. Varrika is still out there somewhere, trapped by The Voice's dark magic. And if we can't solve this riddle... I shake my head, trying to clear the fear from my thoughts. No, I can't think like that. We have to stay focused, stay calm. Merrin's right - together, we can figure this out. I take a step closer to the pit, my eyes fixed on the glowing stone before us. The air around it shimmers with an otherworldly energy, and I can feel the weight of the crystal's influence bearing down on me like a physical pressure. But even as fear gnaws at my insides, I know that we have no choice but to keep moving forward. We've come too far to turn back now, I think to myself. And the promise of the Time-Splitting Sword is too great to ignore. So I take another step forward, my eyes fixed on the stone before us as the energy around it begins to distort reality itself. Whatever happens next, I think to myself, we'll face it together. And with Merrin by my side, I have a feeling that we can overcome any obstacle that stands in our way - no matter how dark or twisted it may be. I turn back to the pit, my eyes fixed on the stone before us. "Let's do this," I say, my voice filled with grim determination. "Whatever it takes, whatever the cost, we'll find a way through this. And we'll save Varrika too. That's a promise."
I strain against the magical force field holding me suspended midair. My heart pounds as I watch Merrin and Serrine grapple with the riddle at the pit's edge. The Voice's ominous words echo in my mind: "If you cannot solve my riddle, you will never leave this place."
Fear for my companions and frustration at my helplessness war within me. I call out, "Merrin! Serrine! Watch your step - that pit could be hiding any manner of trap or creature. And whatever that glowing stone says, don't trust it!"
My words are met with an eerie silence, broken only by the distant whispers of an unseen presence. I test the limits of my confinement again, but the magical seals pulse faster at my efforts, a warning of impending activation. I'm terrified for Merrin and Serrine, but I have to believe in their resourcefulness. They've faced impossible odds before. And if anyone can unravel The Voice's cryptic riddles, it's them. But we're out of time. The magic is waning fast. If the party doesn't solve this soon, we may all be lost to the darkness of this twisted realm. I can only hope that whatever strength and courage I've shown in past battles will serve them as a reminder to trust their instincts and stand strong against the shadows that threaten to engulf us all.
