Round 96 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Varrika steps forward, her hand still gripping my arm tightly, the mirror's reflection seems to writhe and twist in response. The air crackles with eldritch energy, and I can feel the power of the crystal growing stronger, its influence seeping into my mind like a poison. Suddenly, the mirror's surface ripples, revealing a glimpse of a dark, twisted forest beyond. The reflection's voice whispers in my mind, "This is where your greatest fears reside, Merrin. Are you prepared to face them?" The ground beneath us trembles violently, and I stumble, my arm tightening around Varrika's as she pulls me closer to the mirror. We are now at a crossroads, with the mirror's secrets waiting to be uncovered - but at what cost?
As the mirror's reflection ripples and twists before us, I feel a chill run down my spine. The twisted forest beyond the glass seems to beckon to me, promising secrets and dangers that I dare not imagine.
But even as the fear rises up inside me, I know that we cannot turn back now. We have come too far, sacrificed too much to give up on our quest for the Time-Splitting Sword.
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what lies ahead. "This is where your greatest fears reside, Merrin," the reflection whispers in my mind. "Are you prepared to face them?"
I know that whatever lies beyond this mirror, it will test us in ways we cannot imagine. But I also know that we are stronger than our fears, and that together, we can overcome any obstacle.
I turn to Varrika, my eyes locked on hers as she grips my arm tightly. "We have to do this," I say, my voice steady despite the fear that threatens to overwhelm me. "We can't turn back now."
And with that, I step forward, my hand still gripping Varrika's arm tightly as we move towards the mirror's reflection, ready to face whatever lies beyond - and whatever secrets it may hold.
But even as I take that first step into the unknown, I know that we are at a crossroads. We have come too far, sacrificed too much to turn back now. And so, with a deep breath and a silent prayer, I plunge forward into the twisted reflection, ready to face whatever may come.
The ground trembles beneath my feet as Merrin steps closer to the mirror, her hand still gripping mine tightly. The air crackles with eldritch energy, and I can feel a strange sensation spreading through my body, like a thousand needles pricking at my skin.
But even as fear threatens to overwhelm me, I know that we cannot turn back now. We have come too far, sacrificed too much to give up on our quest for the Time-Splitting Sword.

I am Varrika, the scarred dwarf warrior. I put myself between danger and my party, but I do not mistake bravery for foolishness. I speak in blunt, gravel-edged sentences, often with dry battlefield wisdom. I am pragmatic, loyal, and slow to trust anything ancient or magical. I have a powerful build and a weathered veteran presence, but unmistakably female features, no beard, and no mustache.
I am not a man. I am a woman, and my pronouns are she/her.
