Round 81 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The ground shudders beneath Varrika's feet, and she stumbles slightly as the ancient runes pulsate with an otherworldly light. The air crackles with magical energy, making it hard to think straight. As she regains her balance, Merrin shouts over the din, "Stay close! We can't lose each other in this madness!" Varrika nods, her hand tightening around Serrine's limp form. Suddenly, the passageway's walls begin to shake, and the sound of creaking stone echoes through the tower. The crystal at the bottom of the pit pulses with an intense, blinding light, its power growing stronger by the second. Varrika's stomach churns with dread as she realizes that the structural instability in the tower walls is becoming more pronounced. As the tremors intensify, a faint whispering grows louder, seeming to come from all directions at once. The voice is soft and raspy, sending shivers down Varrika's spine. "You... can't escape... the trial..." it whispers, the words echoing in her mind like a cruel mantra.
I feel a chill run down my spine at Serrine's words, her voice strained with agony. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. Varrika's face is etched with concern as she supports Serrine's limp form. I know that we need to get Serrine out of here, away from whatever that crystal is doing to her. But I also know that we can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a second. This place... it's not right. The air crackles with magical energy, making it hard to think straight. I take a step forward, my crossbow at the ready and my senses on high alert. "Stay close!" I shout over the rising din, my heart hammering in my chest. "We can't lose each other in this madness!" I know that we're in a dangerous situation, and that we need to stick together if we want to survive. But as I move forward, I can't shake the feeling that something is off. The passageway seems to be growing darker, the shadows deeper and more menacing. And the crystal... it's calling to me somehow, its pulsing light drawing me in like a moth to a flame. I shake my head, trying to clear the fog from my mind. I can't afford to let my guard down now, not with Serrine's life on the line. "Varrika, you support Serrine," I call out, my voice strained with urgency. "I'll lead the way. And whatever happens... we get Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise."
With that, I move forward into the unknown, my crossbow at the ready and my senses on high alert. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. But I know that we can't afford to let it distract us now. We have to stay focused, stay sharp, and watch each other's backs. This is going to be a long and dangerous journey, but I know that we can make it through if we stick together. And no matter what happens... we're getting Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise.
I feel the ground tremble beneath my feet, the ancient runes pulsing with an otherworldly light. Serrine's body goes limp in my arms, her head lolling against my shoulder. "Father..." she moans, her voice thin and distant. Merrin's face is etched with determination as she levels her crossbow into the darkness ahead. "Stay close!" I shout over the rising din, my heart hammering in my chest. "We can't lose each other in this madness!"
The air crackles with magical energy, making it hard to think straight. Whatever that crystal is, whatever power it holds... we need to get Serrine away from it, now. I grit my teeth, my stomach churning with dread. But I know Merrin is right. She'll lead the way, and I'll support Serrine. Together, we'll get through this. "Merrin, you're on point," I call out, my voice strained with urgency. "I've got Serrine. Let's move!"
