Serrine's eyes roll back once more, her voice barely audible: "Father...". The air around them seems to shimmer with an otherworldly energy, as if the crystal is drawing power from her very being. Varrika tightly grips Serrine's arm, her knuckles white with concern. "Serrine, can you hear me?" she asks, her voice laced with urgency. Suddenly, the passageway begins to shake, and the runes on the walls pulse faster, casting an eerie glow over the proceedings. A low rumble echoes through the tower, causing Varrika to stumble slightly.

As the passage trembles around us, I tighten my grip on Serrine, supporting her weight against me. The runes flash blindingly, their ancient power pulsing through the very stones. Merrin's face is etched with determination as she levels her crossbow into the darkness ahead. "Stay close!" I shout over the rising din. "We can't lose each other in this madness!" My heart hammers in my chest, adrenaline surging through my veins. This place... it's not right. The air crackles with magical energy, making it hard to think straight. Serrine's head lolls against my shoulder, her eyes rolled back in her skull. "Father..." she moans, her voice thin and distant. I grit my teeth, my stomach churning with dread. Whatever that crystal is, whatever power it holds... we need to get Serrine away from it, now. I take a step forward, my hand on the hilt of my mace. "Merrin, lead the way!" I call out, my voice strained with urgency. "And whatever happens... we get Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise."

I grit my teeth as the passageway trembles around us, the ancient runes flashing blindingly on the walls. I can feel the power pulsing through the stones, making my skin crawl. Serrine's head lolls against Varrika's shoulder, her eyes rolled back in her skull. "Father..." she moans, her voice thin and distant. I know we need to get Serrine out of here, away from whatever that crystal is doing to her. But I also know that we can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a second. This place... it's not right. The air crackles with magical energy, making it hard to think straight. "Stay close!" I shout over the rising din, leveling my crossbow into the darkness ahead. My heart hammers in my chest, adrenaline surging through my veins. "We can't lose each other in this madness!"

I take a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. Then I take a step forward, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. "Varrika, you support Serrine," I call out, my voice strained with urgency. "I'll lead the way. And whatever happens... we get Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise."

With that, I move forward into the unknown, my crossbow at the ready and my senses on high alert. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. But I know that we can't afford to let it distract us now. We have to stay focused, stay sharp, and watch each other's backs. This is going to be a long and dangerous journey, but I know that we can make it through if we stick together. And no matter what happens... we're getting Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise.

I feel the ground tremble beneath my feet, the ancient runes pulsing with a blinding light. Serrine's body goes limp in my arms, her head lolling against my shoulder. "Father..." she moans, her voice thin and distant. Merrin's face is etched with determination as she levels her crossbow into the darkness ahead. "Stay close!" I shout over the rising din, my heart hammering in my chest. "We can't lose each other in this madness!" The air crackles with magical energy, making it hard to think straight. Whatever that crystal is, whatever power it holds... we need to get Serrine away from it, now. I grit my teeth, my stomach churning with dread. But I know Merrin is right. She'll lead the way, and I'll support Serrine. Together, we'll get through this. "Merrin, you're on point," I call out, my voice strained with urgency. "I've got Serrine. Let's move!"

With that, we press forward into the unknown, our senses on high alert. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. But I know that we can't afford to let it distract us now. We have to stay focused, stay sharp, and watch each other's backs.
