Round 79 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As the group moves forward, their footsteps echo through the narrow passageway. The runes on the walls pulse faster, casting an eerie glow over the proceedings. Suddenly, the air around them seems to shimmer with an otherworldly energy, and Serrine's eyes roll back in her head once more. "Serrine, can you hear me?" Varrika asks, her voice laced with concern as she tightly grips her arm. Serrine's response is barely audible: "I... think so... Father..."
The faint whisper echoes through the passageway, growing louder: "You will never leave this place...". Merrin's grip on her crossbow tightens, and she takes a step forward, ready to face whatever is ahead.
I feel a surge of unease as Serrine's eyes roll back in her head once more, her voice barely audible as she whispers "Father..." The air around us seems to shimmer with an otherworldly energy, as if the crystal is drawing power from her very being. I can see the fear in Varrika's eyes as she grips Serrine's arm tightly, her knuckles white with concern. The runes on the walls pulse faster and faster, their light blinding in its intensity. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway: "You will never leave this place...". My heart pounds in my chest as I grip my crossbow tighter, ready to face whatever is ahead. But even as fear courses through me, I feel a flicker of determination. We've faced worse dangers before, and I'm not about to let some shadow-creature pick us off one by one. "Stay close," I whisper to Varrika and Serrine, my voice low and urgent. "And keep your wits about you. We don't know what we're up against here, but whatever it is... we'll face it together."
I take a step forward, my eyes scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. But I know that we can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a second. This place... it's not right. And whatever that crystal is, whatever power it holds... we need to be careful. Let's move out. Stay sharp and watch each other's backs. And whatever happens, we get Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise.
The crystal's pulsing grows ever stronger, its otherworldly light bathing the passageway in an eerie glow. Serrine's eyes roll back once more, her voice barely a whisper. "Father..." Merrin's grip on her crossbow tightens, her face etched with determination. I can feel my own heart pounding in my chest, adrenaline surging through my veins. This place... it's not right. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. I take a step forward, my hand on the hilt of my mace. "Stay sharp," I say, my voice low and urgent. "And watch each other's backs. Whatever happens... we get Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise."
