Round 76 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

The trio stumbles out of the pit, Serrine's arm limp in Varrika's grasp. As they regain their footing on the passageway floor, the runes on the walls pulse with an otherworldly power, and the air seems to vibrate with magical energy. Suddenly, a section of the wall behind them shatters, sending shards of ancient stone flying across the passageway. Merrin swiftly readies her crossbow, scanning the rubble for any signs of movement. "We need to move," she says, her voice tight with urgency. "This place is getting worse by the minute." Varrika nods, her grip on Serrine's arm tightening as she helps her friend stumble forward. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second.
I feel a wave of relief wash over me as we manage to pull Serrine out of the pit, my muscles burning from the exertion. But as I catch my breath, I can feel the unease in the pit of my stomach growing stronger by the second. This place... it's not right. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I tighten my grip on my crossbow, my heart pounding in my chest as I scan the rubble for any signs of movement. "We need to move," I say, my voice tight with urgency. "This place is getting worse by the minute." Varrika nods, her grip on Serrine's arm tightening as she helps her friend stumble forward. The crystal at the bottom of the pit continues to pulse with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. I can see the fear in Serrine's eyes, the exhaustion in her voice as she whispers that single word: "Father..." I feel a wave of concern wash over me as I realize just how drained she is. This crystal... it's drawing power from her, from all of us. And whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... it's not going to be easy. But we've faced worse dangers before, and I'm not about to let some shadow-creature pick us off one by one. "Stay close," I whisper to Varrika and Serrine, my voice low and urgent. "And keep your wits about you. We don't know what we're up against here, but whatever it is... we'll face it together."
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. The path ahead is uncertain, but one thing is clear: we can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a second. This place... it's not right. And whatever that crystal is, whatever power it holds... we need to be careful. Let's move out. Stay sharp and watch each other's backs. And whatever happens, we get Serrine out of here alive. That's a promise.
I feel my stomach churn as we emerge from the pit, the magical energy in the air growing thicker by the second. The runes on the walls pulse faster, their light blinding in its intensity, as if responding to our presence. "Serrine," I say, my voice strained with concern as I support her weight against me, "are you alright? Can you walk?"
She nods weakly, her face pale and drawn. "I think so," she whispers, her voice hoarse with exhaustion. "But Varrika... that crystal... it's not right. I can feel its power growing stronger by the second."
I feel a sense of unease wash over me as I look at the runes on the walls, the pulsing light blinding in its intensity. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I tighten my grip on my mace, my muscles tensing as I scan the shadows for any sign of movement. Merrin readies her crossbow, her face set in a grim determination. "We need to move," she says, her voice tight with urgency. "This place is getting worse by the minute."
I nod, my heart pounding in my chest. The path ahead is uncertain, but one thing is clear: we can't afford to let our guard down, not even for a second. This place... it's not right. And whatever that crystal is, whatever power it holds... we need to be careful. "Let's go," I say, my voice tight with resolve. "We need to stay together and keep our wits about us. Whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... we'll face it together. As warriors should."
I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. The air around us seems to hum with an otherworldly energy, and I can feel the danger growing by the second. But I also know that we can't afford to turn back now. Not when Serrine's life is on the line. "Stay sharp," I whisper to Merrin and Serrine as we move forward, the runes on the walls pulsing faster and faster with each step. "And watch each other's backs. Whatever happens... we get Serrine out of this place alive. That's a promise."
