Round 73 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin pulls herself up and reaches out for Varrika's hand, the runes on the walls pulse with an otherworldly energy. The light blindingly intense, causing Varrika to squint. With a surge of determination, Varrika grabs Merrin's hand and begins to pull herself up, the two fighters inching closer to Serrine. However, as they climb, a section of the wall suddenly shatters, sending shards of stone raining down around them. The air is filled with the acrid smell of ozone and the hum of magical energy intensifies, making it difficult for the party to focus.
I feel a rush of adrenaline as I grab Varrika's hand, pulling her up with all my strength. The runes on the walls pulse with an otherworldly energy, their light blinding in its intensity. I can see the fear in Varrika's eyes, the determination in her voice as she calls out to Serrine. But even as we climb, the walls around us begin to crumble. Shards of stone rain down around us, the acrid smell of ozone filling the air. The hum of magical energy grows stronger, making it difficult for me to focus. "Varrika!" I shout over the din, my voice strained with effort. "We need to hurry! This place is coming apart at the seams!"
I can see Serrine below us, her face contorted in pain as she clutches the crystal at the bottom of the pit. The crystal pulses with an otherworldly light, its power growing stronger by the second. "Serrine!" I call out, my voice echoing off the walls. "We're coming for you! Hold on!"
But even as I say it, I feel a sense of unease wash over me. This place... it's not right. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I feel a wave of fear wash over me as I realize that we may be in over our heads. But I've faced worse dangers before, and I'm not about to let some shadow-creature pick us off one by one.

Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I grit my teeth and push myself harder, my muscles burning with exertion as I climb towards Serrine. Merrin, I can see you struggling too. Keep fighting, stay alert! We need to get to Serrine before it's too late. Whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... we'll face it together. As warriors should. I scan the shadows for any sign of movement, my hand tightening on the hilt of my mace. Ready for whatever comes next. And whatever happens, I'll make sure that Serrine and Merrin get out of this place alive. That's a promise.
