Round 72 Transcript
Episode 1 · Episode Round 1

As Merrin finishes her warning, the runes on the walls pulse with an otherworldly energy, causing the passageway to darken. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the air, "Serrine's connection grows stronger." The crystal at the bottom of the pit begins to glow brighter, its light illuminating Serrine's contorted face. Her convulsions intensify, and she cries out in agony, "I can feel it... the Voice is calling me!"
I feel a chill run down my spine at Serrine's words, her voice strained with agony. The crystal at the bottom of the pit pulses with an otherworldly energy, its light illuminating her contorted face. I can see the fear in her eyes, the desperation in her voice as she cries out, "I can feel it... the Voice is calling me!"
I take a step towards her, my hand tightening on the hilt of my mace. "Serrine, hold on!" I call out, my voice strained with concern. But as I move, the runes on the walls pulse faster, their glow intensifying until it's almost too bright to bear. I feel a wave of dizziness wash over me, the energy in the air making it difficult for me to focus. I glance back at Varrika, still struggling to climb out of the pit. "Varrika, we need to get out of here!" I call out, my voice strained with urgency. But even as I say it, I know that leaving her behind may be our only chance. Whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... we'll face it together. As a warrior should. I scan the shadows for any sign of movement, my hand tightening on the hilt of my mace. Ready for whatever comes next. And whatever happens, I'll make sure that Serrine and Varrika get out of this place alive. That's a promise. But even as I think it, I feel a sense of unease wash over me. This place... it's not right. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I feel a wave of fear wash over me as I realize that we may be in over our heads. But I've faced worse dangers before, and I'm not about to let some shadow-creature pick us off one by one. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. "Serrine," I call out, my voice strained with effort as I try to climb the walls of the pit. "Get Varrika out of here! I'll hold off whatever comes our way!" But even as I say it, I know that leaving me behind may be our only chance. Whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... we'll face it together. As a warrior should.
Varrika | Fighter: I feel a surge of determination as I hear Serrine's anguished cry. The crystal's power is growing stronger, and I know we can't leave her behind. "Serrine!" I shout, my voice echoing off the walls. "Hold on! We're coming!" I redouble my efforts to climb out of the pit, my muscles burning with exertion. Merrin, I see you struggling too. Keep fighting, stay alert! We need to get to Serrine before it's too late. The runes on the walls pulse faster, their light blinding in its intensity. I feel a wave of dizziness wash over me, the energy in the air making it difficult for me to focus. But I push through it, my determination unwavering. "Merrin, I need your help!" I call out, my voice strained with effort. "Together, we can get Serrine out of here!"
I grit my teeth and push myself harder, my hands gripping the rough stone walls as I climb towards the top of the pit. Merrin's right, we can't leave Serrine behind, not like this. The crystal's power is growing stronger, and I can feel it calling to her, pulling her in deeper. I reach out a hand to Merrin, my voice strained with effort. "Merrin, take my hand! We can climb out together!"
