As Serrine's convulsions intensify, her body shaking violently, the ancient runes on the walls pulse brighter still. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for Merrin to focus. She takes a step back, her hand tightening on the hilt of her mace, ready to defend herself if needed. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. Varrika's mace lies lost in the darkness below, its head spinning wildly as it falls towards the unknown depths. Merrin's eyes dart back to Serrine, concern etched on her face. "Serrine, snap out of it! We have to get out of here!"

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

I feel a wave of panic wash over me as I watch Varrika tumble into the pit once more. The runes on the walls pulse with an otherworldly energy, their glow intensifying until it's almost too bright to bear. I can hear her cries echoing off the ancient stones, but there's no way for me to reach her from here. "Varrika!" I call out, my voice strained with fear and frustration. Serrine's convulsions are getting worse, her body shaking violently as she clutches her head. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. I take a step back, my hand tightening on the hilt of my mace, ready to defend myself if needed. But what good will that do against whatever is happening here? Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I feel a chill run down my spine as I realize the danger we're in. I glance back at Serrine, concern etched on my face. "Serrine, snap out of it! We have to get out of here!" But she doesn't respond, lost in her own world of pain and fear. I take a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves and think through our options. The runes on the walls are pulsing faster now, their glow intensifying until it's almost too bright to bear. Whatever this place is, whatever test we must face... I know we're in for a fight. But for now, all I can do is wait and watch, my hand tight on the hilt of my mace. Ready for whatever comes next. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. "Stay alert," I mutter to myself, scanning the shadows for any sign of movement. "And whatever you do... don't let go of your weapon."

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I grit my teeth in frustration as I struggle to find purchase on the slippery walls of the pit. The runes pulse with an otherworldly energy, their glow intensifying until it's almost too bright to bear. I can hear Merrin calling my name from above, but there's no way for me to reach her from here. "Varrika!" her voice echoes off the ancient stones, strained with fear and frustration. My mace lies lost in the darkness below, its head spinning wildly as it falls towards the unknown depths. A wave of frustration washes over me - my weapon, my protection... gone. I feel a chill run down my spine as I realize the danger we're in. This place... it's not right. The air seems to vibrate with magical energy, making it difficult for me to focus. Suddenly, a faint whisper echoes through the passageway, "You will never leave this place...". The low chuckle from the shadows grows louder, and the runes pulse with an otherworldly power. I feel a sense of unease wash over me as I realize that we may be in over our heads. But I've faced worse dangers before, and I'm not about to let some shadow-creature pick us off one by one. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what's to come. "Merrin!" I call out, my voice strained with effort as I try to climb the walls of the pit. "Get Serrine out of here! I'll hold off whatever comes our way!" But even as I say it, I know that leaving me behind may be our only chance. Whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... we'll face it together. As a warrior should. I scan the shadows for any sign of movement, my hand tightening on the hilt of my mace. Ready for whatever comes next. And whatever happens, I'll make sure that Merrin and Serrine get out of this place alive. That's a promise.
