As Varrika struggles to find her footing, the ground beneath her gives way once more, and she tumbles into the pit, disappearing from view. The runes on the walls pulse with an otherworldly energy, their glow illuminating the dark passageway in a sickly yellow light. Serrine's convulsions intensify, her body shaking violently as she clutches at her head. In the pit below, Varrika's mace lies near the edge, its head spinning wildly as it falls towards the darkness. She cries out in frustration and fear, but her voice is lost to the echoing chamber.

Merrin

Merrin · Rogue

A chill runs down my spine as Varrika tumbles into the pit once more, her cries echoing off the ancient stones. I crouch at the edge, peering into the darkness below, my heart pounding in my ears. The runes on the walls pulse faster, their glow intensifying with each passing moment. Whatever this place is... it's not safe. I glance over at Seraphine, but she's still clutching her head, her body shaking with pain. "Serrine," I call out, my voice tight with concern. "Are you alright?" But there's no response, only the ominous hum of the runes and the low chuckle from the shadows. I take a deep breath, steeling myself for what comes next. I've faced my share of dangers in my time, but something about this place feels different. More primal, more ancient. And whatever lurks in those shadows... it's not going to go down easy. I crouch at the edge of the pit, ready to spring into action if needed. But for now, all I can do is wait and watch, my hand tight on the hilt of my mace. Whatever this test is, whatever we have to face... we'll face it together. As a warrior should. I glance back at Seraphine, my brow furrowed with concern. "Serrine, can you hear me? We need to get out of here." But as I speak, the runes on the walls pulse faster, their glow intensifying until it's almost too bright to bear. And from the shadows behind me... the chuckle grows louder, more insistent. Whatever this is, whatever test we must face... I know we're in for a fight. But for now, all I can do is wait and watch, my hand tight on the hilt of my mace. Ready for whatever comes next.

Varrika

Varrika · Fighter

I struggle to find my footing on the slippery walls of the pit, my fingers clawing at the ancient stones. The runes pulse faster now, their glow intensifying until it's almost too bright to bear. I can hear Merrin's voice echoing down from above, full of concern and fear. But there's no time to respond, no time to plan. The air is thick with ancient magic, and the shadows in the pit seem to writhe and twist around me. I reach for my mace, but it's just out of reach, lost in the darkness below. A wave of frustration washes over me - my weapon, my protection... gone.
